Not only that, the 20-year-old has now tasted success in all seven of her hard-court finales. The first to do so in the Open Era.<\/p>\n<p>Her 6-1 6-3 success on Sunday is Gauff&#8217;s biggest victory since capturing the 2023 US Open title. After struggling in the earlier rounds, Gauff&#8217;s win is a testament to her resilience and perseverance.<\/p>\n<p>Gauff&#8217;s second 2nd WTA 1000 title created history amongst American players. Her latest feat has drawn many comparisons with Williams. Her first came way back in January when she won the ASB Classic in Auckland.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, her latest triumph is the first since replacing coach Brad Gilbert with Matt Daly. In fact, it was Gauff&#8217;s first event since making the switch.<\/p>\n<p>Daly&#8217;s influence is clearly paying dividends and he&#8217;ll be hoping the success in Beijing will act as a springboard to future victories in 2025. Another Grand Slam title will be the main aim.<\/p>\n<h2>Serena Williams And Coco Gauff Are The Last Two American Women To Win In Beijing<\/h2>\n<p>Coco Gauff became the first American woman since 2013 to win the singles title at the China Open. The last to do it was none other than Serena Williams.<\/p>\n<p>The legendary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/tennis\/\">tennis<\/a> star tasted success twice in Beijing during her illustrious career. From Gauff&#8217;s perspective, she can aspire to achieve the levels of greatness Williams has enjoyed.<\/p>\n<p>Granted, there is a long way to go but Gauff&#8217;s latest victory will put her on the right track to try and emulate her hero.
