{"id":14333,"date":"2024-10-22T16:05:22","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T16:05:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/?p=14333"},"modified":"2024-10-22T16:05:22","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T16:05:22","slug":"pga-vs-liv-the-showdown-sees-mcilroy-and-scheffler-favourites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/pga-vs-liv-the-showdown-sees-mcilroy-and-scheffler-favourites\/","title":{"rendered":"PGA vs LIV &#8216;The Showdown&#8217; Sees McIlroy and Scheffler Installed Favourites Over Koepka and DeChambeau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The PGA and LIV Golf tours are trying to move a step closer to joining forces in the coming years by putting on <em>&#8216;The Showdown&#8217;<\/em> &#8211; which will see heavyweight PGA pairing Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy taking on Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau from the LIV tour in December.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bookies Make Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy Favourites To Win The PGA vs LIV Golf &#8216;The Showdown&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Golf fans always have a bit of a lull at this time of the year, with the main <strong>PGA and LIV<\/strong> events over and, of course, all the Majors played between April and August.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is something to look forward to this year as, in a bid to try and bolster relations, the PGA and LIV golf tours are putting on a match play event that will feature four of the biggest names on each tour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rory McIlroy<\/strong> and world <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/golf\/\">golf<\/a> number one <strong>Scottie Scheffler<\/strong> will represent the PGA Tour, while <strong>Brooks Koepka<\/strong> and <strong>Bryson DeChambeau<\/strong> will fly the flag for the breakaway Saudi-backed LIV tour. With the head-to-head team event taking place in December.<\/p>\n<p>As the build-up continues the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/betting-sites\/golf\">best golf betting sites in the UK<\/a> have already priced up event being dubbed<em><strong> &#8216;The Showdown&#8217;<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; and they are making McIlroy and Scheffler the odds-on favourites to win at 4\/6 with Koepka and DeChambeau at 6\/4.<\/p>\n<p>You feel this would be based on Scheffler having another season to remember &#8211; winning the Masters and also a gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the summer.
