Gary Neville has made a bold claim in the aftermath of Manchester United’s defeat to West Ham, predicting when Erik Ten Hag may be let go by the club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gary Neville Sheds Damning Light on Erik Ten Hag’s Future at Manchester United<\/h2>\n

Gary Neville says Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag could be sacked as early as this week after slipping to 14th in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jarrod Bowen’s injury time penalty<\/a> condemned United to their fourth defeat of the campaign already after just nine games, leaving them trailing the top four by seven points.<\/p>\n

The club’s new INEOS<\/a>-led owners have made no secret of the fact Ten Hag was not their first choice, particularly after registering their worst ever finish in the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n

With pressure continuing to mount on the Dutchman, Gary Neville<\/a> believes his tenure in the hot seat could come to an end sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his self-titled Sky Sports podcast, Neville said: \u201cErik ten Hag is asking for trouble.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s 14th in the league nine games in, and nine games is nearly 25 per cent of the season gone. It will be a big worry for everybody at the club because the performance levels… United should have been up but they lost.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are 14th, they’ve spent a fortune. I was quite clear at the end of last season that if they’re in that same position in the league after the first few months there will be a lot of questions being asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey’ve got a game in midweek but it will all come down to next weekend’s game against Chelsea. Anybody that is half decent, that can play, have the quality in parts of the pitch, can beat this United team and they’re in danger.<\/p>\n

Neville continued by saying that another defeat against Chelsea at Old Trafford next weekend could mark the end of Ten Hag’s reign.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t think there can be another defeat next weekend at Old Trafford. It’s getting to that point where there is a real worry, I’m worried. The results, the lack of goals, lack of performances are stacking up week after week.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are the players that have been recruited over the last couple of seasons mainly. It’s a sobering time. It’s getting to the point whereby it will become unbearable the pressure in the next week or two around Ten Hag purely because of the position in the league. They’re 14th. You can’t be 14th in the league after nine games.\u201d<\/p>\n
