{"id":15543,"date":"2024-10-29T12:57:25","date_gmt":"2024-10-29T12:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/?p=15543"},"modified":"2024-10-29T12:57:25","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T12:57:25","slug":"tom-kim-apologizes-after-breaking-locker-door-incident-in-genesis-championship-defeat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/tom-kim-apologizes-after-breaking-locker-door-incident-in-genesis-championship-defeat\/","title":{"rendered":"Tom Kim Apologizes After &#8216;Breaking Locker Door&#8217; Incident In Genesis Championship Defeat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tom Kim lost out on winning the 2024 Genesis Championship on the DP World Tour at the end of October and after the defeat there were rumours of the South Korean golfer damaging a locker at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon, South Korea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tom Kim Apologizes After Locker Breaking Incident at Genesis Championship<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Having lost out in a play-off at the <strong>2024 Genesis Championship<\/strong> at the weekend to fellow countryman, Byeong Hun An, there was speculation doing the rounds that <strong>Tom Kim<\/strong> took his frustrations out on a locker in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/golf\/\">golf<\/a> changing room after.<\/p>\n<p>You can make your own mind up from the picture below, with Kim claiming after that the door <em>&#8216;just fell off&#8217;<\/em>, but still issued an apology for the damage.<\/p>\n<p>Kim went onto say that he also offered to pay for any damage to the Jack Nicklaus golf club locker (see the full statement below).<\/p>\n<p>However, with Kim also claiming after the defeat that he was <em>&#8216;frustrated&#8217;<\/em> this has led to many wondering if the locker door <em>&#8216;just falling off&#8217;<\/em> story is 100% true.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Kim added that he had <em>&#8220;no intent of damaging any part of the locker, not a single bit.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8\ud83d\ude2c\ud83c\uddf0\ud83c\uddf7 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/PHOTO?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#PHOTO<\/a> \u2014 After losing the Genesis Championship in a playoff yesterday, frustrations boiled over for Tim Kim, breaking a locker room door. Kim apologized to the KPGA and has offered to pay for the damage but disciplinary action is also being considered, per <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/YonhapNews?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@YonhapNews<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nJvQVQLgX4\">pic.twitter.com\/nJvQVQLgX4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NUCLR GOLF (@NUCLRGOLF) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NUCLRGOLF\/status\/1850869970638446660?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 28, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I addressed it with the [DP World Tour] and the KPGA right after the incident saying that the door came off. We had to fully pull it out due to safety reasons.
