Manchester United took the lead against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup<\/a> last-16 in stunning fashion on Wednesday evening, with Casemiro striking a long-range screamer to put the Red Devils in front.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian’s opener came just 15 minutes into the tie at Old Trafford, with Ruud van Nistelrooy taking charge of the squad for the first time following Erik ten Hag<\/a>‘s sacking on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Van Nistelrooy has been appointed in an interim capacity, and fielded the likes of Altay Bayindir, Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee in his maiden game as Red Devils boss.<\/p>\n

While Van Nistelrooy is expected to remain in charge for this weekend’s Premier League clash against Chelsea, United are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Ruben Amorim<\/a> from Sporting to become their permanent manager.<\/p>\n
