Manchester United\u2019s pursuit of Everton\u2019s highly-rated centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite may gather steam, as Everton reportedly cannot afford to offer the England international a new contract. <\/strong><\/p>\n

With United likely transitioning to a three-at-the-back system under Ruben Amorim<\/a>, this potential opening could set the stage for one of the transfer market\u2019s big moves in 2025.<\/p>\n

United showed significant interest in signing him last summer to reinforce their defensive options, with then-manager Erik ten Hag<\/a> keen to bring in fresh talent to strengthen United\u2019s backline.<\/p>\n

However, the move didn\u2019t materialise, and Ten Hag and United\u2019s recruitment team turned to Leny Yoro<\/a> and Matthijs de Ligt instead.<\/p>\n
