Conor Benn could fight Mario Barrios for the WBC World Welterweight Title next, if the Chris Eubank Jr fight doesn’t happen first. ‘The Destroyer’ has revealed that he and his team are in talks for a potential Barrios fight in 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conor Benn In Talks For World Title Fight<\/h2>\n

Despite the constant rumours that Conor Benn will return to the UK and face Chris Eubank Jr<\/a> next, it has now been revealed by ‘The Destroyer’ himself that he is in talks for a world title shot instead.<\/p>\n

Benn, who has been cleared of any wrongdoing now following his supposed ingestion of Clomifene, has made no secret of his desire to continue the fabled rivalry of their fathers with another Eubank vs Benn clash.<\/p>\n

However, if that fight isn’t to happen next, it seems that Conor Benn could be in line for a world title shot instead. ‘The Destroyer’ has revealed in a recent interview with talkSPORT<\/em> that he could well face Mario Barrios for the WBC World Welterweight Title next, and that both teams are currently in talks for a potential fight.<\/p>\n

Barrios recently appeared on the Jake Paul<\/a> vs Mike Tyson<\/a> card, fighting to a draw against fellow Mexican Abel Ramos in what was a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender. That being said, Benn wasn’t impressed with Barrios’ performance and has expressed his desire to get in the ring with him next.<\/p>\n

This is only if Conor Benn’s next fight<\/a> doesn’t end up being against Chris Eubank Jr<\/a>. If that fight does go ahead, it would likely headline a stadium in the UK in the early summer, or perhaps land on the huge Turki Alalshikh<\/a>\/Riyadh Season card on February 22nd, headlined by Daniel Dubois<\/a>.<\/p>\n

‘He Is Built For Me’\u00a0 – Benn On Potential Barrios Clash<\/h3>\n

Should the Chris Eubank Jr<\/a> fight fall through or not happen at all, it seems a world title clash with Mario Barrios could be realistically on the cards instead.<\/p>\n

‘The Destroyer’ has revealed in a recent interview with talkSPORT<\/em> that his team, including promoter Eddie Hearn<\/a>, are in talks with WBC world welterweight champion over a potential clash in the first half of 2025:<\/p>\n

“We’re in talks with Barrios for the WBC world title and if there is anything that is going to make me pick over the Eubank fight it would be the WBC world title.<\/em><\/p>\n

“He’s a great fighter, a tough Mexican fighter but I don’t think he looked great.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I think he is built for me, he will come out firing. I feel rejuvenated and full of life,”<\/em> Benn concluded.<\/p>\n

Time will tell what happens regarding Conor Benn and who he faces next. Should it be Eubank Jr, then UK boxing<\/a> fans are being treated to a potential classic.<\/p>\n
