West Ham has offered a fresh update on Michail Antonio, with the striker undergoing surgery on a fractured lower limb after he was involved in a car crash on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a statement, his club extended a “heartfelt thank you” to emergency services workers and those who aided the striker.<\/p>\n

West Ham<\/a> said Antonio will be “monitored over the coming days” in hospital.<\/p>\n

The Jamaican international, 34, was involved in a crash while driving his Ferrari in Epping, and was airlifted to a hospital<\/a> in central London after being released from the car by the fire service.<\/p>\n

Michail Antonio Update As Striker Undergoes Surgery<\/h2>\n

Having been airlifted to hospital, Antonio was confirmed to be in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

West Ham said on Twitter (now X): \u201cWest Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident this afternoon in the Essex area.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family. The Club will make no further comment this evening, but will issue a further update in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since then, it has been confirmed that the striker underwent surgery on a lower limb fracture.<\/p>\n

With so much damage visible to Antonio’s car, it is excellent news that he is in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

The full extent of his injuries are not yet known, but we hope he is able to make a full and swift recovery.<\/p>\n

Michail Antonio is West Ham’s all-time leading Premier League<\/a> scorer, netting 68 times in 268 appearances.<\/p>\n
