Jack Shore has made the rather surprising decision to announce his retirement from the UFC after back to back defeats, with the Welshman hoping to move into teaching.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jack Shore Announces Retirement<\/h2>\n

One of the most promising British fighters in the UFC<\/a> has decided to hang up his gloves, with Jack Shore ending his career after losing back to back fights in the Featherweight division.<\/p>\n

Shore has fought twice in 2024 but losses to both Youssef Zalal and Joanderson Brito meant he finished the year winless.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old was still a feared fighter in the flyweight division despite his consecutive losses and he held a 17-3-0 record before retiring on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Shore took to Instagram to announce his career change away from a job that he dubbed his ‘childhood dream’.<\/p>\n

“As what may come as a surprise to a few I\u2019ve decided to hang up the gloves on my professional fighting career. After fighting out my contract and taking some time to think about what\u2019s next it\u2019s clear to me that my time with professional fighting is done.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Although I had the chance to re sign with UFC I\u2019ve decided my times done. I want to thank the UFC for letting me live out my childhood dream of fighting for the worlds biggest organisation and against some of the best in the world, I\u2019ve enjoyed every minute!”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Tank” suffered a knee injury in 2022 before making his debut in the featherweight division, but after a delay he returned to the cage last year with his first and only win in that class.<\/p>\n

Since his knee troubles Shore is 1-2 in the Octagon and the injury may have played a role in his retirement.<\/p>\n

Shore will now move on to a career in teaching alongside his dad, who also represented his son as his manager during his time in the UFC.<\/p>\n
