{"id":25617,"date":"2024-12-16T16:14:46","date_gmt":"2024-12-16T16:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/?p=25617"},"modified":"2024-12-16T16:14:46","modified_gmt":"2024-12-16T16:14:46","slug":"former-liv-golf-star-left-with-uncertain-future-as-pga-fail-to-respond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/former-liv-golf-star-left-with-uncertain-future-as-pga-fail-to-respond\/","title":{"rendered":"Former LIV Golf Star Left With Uncertain Future As PGA Fail To Respond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Hudson Swafford has been left with an uncertain future after being exiled from LIV Golf, as he claims the PGA have not responded to his proposals of a return.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>EX LIV Golf Star Hudson Swafford Left With Shaky Future As PGA Fail To Respond<\/h2>\n<p>Injuries have caused huge issues for Swafford in recent years, putting in some underwhelming performances when competing as a member of LIV Golf from 2022-2024<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old could not keep up with the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/watch-bryson-dechambeau-hit-hole-in-one-over-his-house\/\">Bryson DeChambeau<\/a>, Phil Mickelson and Jon Rahm in 2023 &#8211; meaning he was handed a wildcard place to return this year.<\/p>\n<p>Despite getting this spot, the American struggled throughout the campaign and finished 55th in the individual standings &#8211; failing to finish in the top 30 in each of the events.<\/p>\n<p>Swafford had one more shot at qualifying for the 2025 LIV Golf schedule, competing at LIV Promotions which is allows the best finished to enter the breakaway league roster.<\/p>\n<p>The American was unable to turn his performances around, ending the week at rock bottom and finishing six over par.<\/p>\n<p>This ended any chance of Swafford playing in his fourth consecutive season at LIV Golf and leaves him in a precarious position under no organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Swafford is a three-time winner from his days on the PGA Tour, winning the American Express in 2022 &#8211; beating the likes of Rahm and Brain Harman.<\/p>\n<p>However this plays no significant role for the American, as he no longer holds playing rights for the PGA Tour and players under the LIV Golf name have to serve a years suspension if the want to return to the PGA.<\/p>\n<p>This does not impact Swafford after losing his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/golf-calendar-and-schedule-2025-dates\/\">PGA<\/a> Tour card but he has received another hope through the Asian Tour.<\/p>\n<p>Playing well there would be huge, as a win would boost his place on the International Series Order of Merit and gives hope of a return to LIV in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Swafford revealed that he has reached out the PGA, but conversations with the golf organisation did not go according to plan.<\/p>\n<p>He said (Via Gold Channel): <em>&#8220;I tried to go back to the PGA Tour last year. I talked to Jason Gore, the Tour&#8217;s senior vice president and Commissioner Jay Monahan and thought I did everything pretty cordially, just told them how I felt bthey could never give me an answer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Past champions are getting in a bunch of fall events, does my past champion status reinstate in September? I can&#8217;t seem to get any answers.
