What Belts Are On The Line For Du Plessis vs Adesanya At UFC 305?<\/h2>\n

MMA fans will be eagerly anticipating the return of the UFC<\/a> this weekend as it heads to the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, for UFC 305, where Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya will be headlining the event.<\/p>\n

Current UFC Middleweight Champion Du Plessis will be putting his title on the line when he takes on Adesanya, in what will mark the first time two African-born fighters meet for a title fight in the organisation’s history.<\/p>\n

Du Plessis will be defending his crown for the first time against his Nigerian opponent on Saturday, having beaten Sean Strickland at UFC 297 back in January to claim the title and become the first ever South African UFC champion.<\/p>\n

Adesanya, of course, is a former two-time champion but lost the title to Strickland via unanimous decision at UFC 293 back in September 2023, which was also the last time a UFC event was held in Australia.<\/p>\n

In terms of form heading into the fight, Du Plessis undoubtedly boasts the better record. The 30-year-old has won each of his last nine professional MMA fights, and a win on Saturday would take his winning run into double figures. Adesanya meanwhile has been somewhat inconsistent as of late, losing three of his last seven fights.<\/p>\n

Despite this, the 35-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria, is slightly favoured among the UK’s best betting sites<\/a> at a price of 4\/5, while UFC Middleweight Champion Du Plessis is rated at 1\/1.<\/p>\n
