Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that 17-year-old sensation Ethan Nwaneri has the potential to evolve into a striker in the coming years. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Nwaneri has impressed with his ability to adapt and develop in multiple attacking roles, prompting Arteta to suggest that the teenager\u2019s future may lie as Arsenal\u2019s centre-forward.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta\u2019s Vision for Nwaneri<\/h3>\n

Speaking at the latest press conference, Arteta hinted at the teenager\u2019s long-term potential in a more advanced role.<\/p>\n

When asked about Nwaneri\u2019s positional versatility, Arteta said, \u201cEthan can play as a right attacking midfielder, left attacking midfielder, as a right winger, and there is another position he can develop into in a few years\u2019 time.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Probed further, Arteta revealed, \u201cStriker. He\u2019s got the goal in front of him, and he just looks at the goal. He has a tremendous ability to put the ball in the back of the net.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Arteta emphasised that the youngster’s transition into a striker would take time for Nwaneri to fully adapt to the demands of playing the role.<\/p>\n

However, the praise clearly reflects Nwaneri\u2019s natural goal-scoring instincts, which have been evident throughout the season.<\/p>\n

With four goals for Arsenal<\/a> in 2023-24, he is behind only Kai Havertz (10) and Bukayo Saka (nine) as the team’s top scorers.<\/p>\n

In recent weeks, he has been used as a substitute, most recently replacing captain Martin Odegaard<\/a> as the right-sided attacking midfielder.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, during Arsenal\u2019s 1-0 victory over Tottenham<\/a> this season, Arteta used Nwaneri as a forward late in the match to secure the win.<\/p>\n
