Manchester United star Marcus Rashford will miss Sunday’s Premier League game against Liverpool due to illness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 27-year-old forward was left out of new United boss Ruben Amorim’s<\/a> first four league games in charge.<\/p>\n

A combination of poor training and attitude led to Rashford’s omission, but he has since earned his way back into consideration.<\/p>\n

Amorim named Rashford<\/a> on the bench for United’s home defeat to Newcastle<\/a> last time out, but opted not to bring him onto the field.<\/p>\n

United have now lost four in a row since beating rivals Manchester City<\/a> 2-1 at the Etihad last month.<\/p>\n

Marcus Rashford Kept Out With Illness<\/h2>\n

While he had hoped to be a part of this weekend’s squad, Rashford will once again watch on from the sidelines.<\/p>\n

This time, though, it is through no fault of his own, nor has Amorim chosen to leave him out.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese manager confirmed the situation ahead of the weekend.<\/p>\n

He said: “At the moment he is ill.<\/p>\n

“He is not training and this week he is out.”<\/p>\n

It was unclear if Rashford would be involved anyway, with captain Bruno Fernandes and new signing Manuel Ugarte both back from suspension.<\/p>\n

But the England international will definitely not be involved on Sunday now.<\/p>\n

Speaking about Rashford’s future and possible exit from the club, Amorim did not discuss any immediate transfer news.<\/p>\n

He added: “It’s the same situation. We will see in the future, but this is like a normal player and then I make a selection.”<\/p>\n

As it stands, Serie A side Napoli are the latest among many clubs to be linked to Rashford.<\/p>\n

The player has reportedly rejected the chance to move to Saudi Arabia, and would prefer to stay in Europe.<\/p>\n

Since making his senior debut in 2015\/16, Marcus Rashford has made 426 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 138 times.<\/p>\n

Rashford also has 17 goals in 60 caps for England, but was left out of the Three Lions squad that ended last summer’s Euro 2024 as runners-up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
