World no. 33 Alexander Bublik has aimed shots at tennis legends Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal, branding their retirements as a “circus” and taking aim at Murray’s post-retirement coaching role.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bublik\u2019s Comments on Murray and Nadal<\/h3>\n

Bublik didn\u2019t hold back in his comments about the two retired icons. He referred to Murray as \u201cbald, old, and a problem\u201d and dismissed his decision to coach Novak Djokovic<\/a> as an attempt to \u201cgrasp at something that no longer exists.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murray, who officially retired after the 2024 Paris Olympics, has joined Djokovic’s team ahead of the Australian Open, sparking speculation about his role in the Serbian star\u2019s preparation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are attempts to grasp at echoes of the past,\u201d Bublik said, suggesting that Murray\u2019s involvement signals a reluctance to let go of his former glory.<\/p>\n

The Kazakh player was equally critical of Nadal<\/a>, who also retired in 2024 after an illustrious career celebrated at the Davis Cup Finals.<\/p>\n

Nadal\u2019s farewell featured emotional speeches and tributes from fellow players, including Serena Williams, Djokovic, and Murray. While Bublik acknowledged Nadal\u2019s achievements, he described the retirement ceremonies as overly theatrical.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is clear that he [Murray] is no longer the same and will never be the same,\u201d Bublik added. \u201cIn my opinion, this is a shame, not a circus. Although Rafa still left normally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bublik\u2019s Controversial History<\/h3>\n

Bublik is no stranger to controversy. In 2023, he was widely condemned for an offensive remark made during a US Open match against Dominic Thiem.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Russian, Bublik allegedly made a disparaging comment about disabled individuals, which drew sharp criticism from fans and fellow players alike.<\/p>\n

Nick Kyrgios, known for his outspoken personality, weighed in on the incident, calling it \u201chorrible\u201d on social media. Although Thiem, the target of the remark, appeared to downplay its significance, he expressed disapproval of the language used.<\/p>\n
