Ipswich Town have agreed a \u00a320m deal with Aston Villa to sign young winger Jaden Philogene.<\/strong><\/p>\n

England under-21s international Philogene is set for a medical at Portman Road ahead of the move.<\/p>\n

The deal marks the end of his six-month spell back at Villa Park.<\/p>\n

Philogene, 22, came through the academy at Aston Villa<\/a> before joining Hull City, but moved back to the Midlands in the summer.<\/p>\n

Ipswich<\/a> initially agreed to sign Philogene from Hull, but Villa activated a buy-back clause in their original deal.<\/p>\n

Despite a much-anticipated return to his boyhood club, Philogene has struggled for playing time this season.<\/p>\n

He has been limited to only four starts while making 11 appearances from the bench.<\/p>\n

It is reported that the player’s interest in working with Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has played a big part in orchestrating the move.<\/p>\n

Philogene’s arrival could be a big boost for the Tractor Boys. Newly-promoted Ipswich are 18th in the table, but only below Wolves on goal difference.<\/p>\n

Having achieved back-to-back promotions, they were among the bookies’ favourites to go straight back down.<\/p>\n

Ipswich have also signed Atalanta defender Ben Godfrey on loan<\/a>, as they look to boost their survival chances.<\/p>\n

Ipswich Hijack Everton Deal For Jaden Philogene<\/h2>\n

Jaden Philogene’s<\/a> move to Suffolk marks the end of Everton’s<\/a> pursuit of him.<\/p>\n

The Toffees had been heavily linked with the Villa man this week, but it appears Ipswich have beaten them to it.<\/p>\n

Sean Dyche’s team are a direct relegation rival to Ipswich, so signing one of the their targets represents a big result.<\/p>\n

Known for his pace and dribbling ability, Philogene will be hoping his arrival will tip the odds of survival in Ipswich’s favour.<\/p>\n
