Ruben Amorim could offer no guarantees about Kobbie Mainoo’s future at Manchester United amid suggestion that he could leave the club.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reports this week surprisingly suggested that Chelsea are leading the race to sign Mainoo<\/a> should he leave the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

That news has suddenly thrown Mainoo’s Manchester United<\/a> future into uncertainty despite there being two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.<\/p>\n

Mainoo was said to have reached a stalemate over a new deal with the Red Devils. However, he is keen to continue playing his football<\/a> at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

It would likely take a huge sum of money for United to consider a move. If Mainoo decides not to sign a new deal then there is the risk of him becoming a free agent.<\/p>\n

Amorim addressed Mainoo’s future in his pre-match press conference ahead of their FA Cup clash with Arsenal this Sunday.<\/a><\/p>\n

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim says he wants to keep Kobbie Mainoo<\/a> – but hinted the club might be forced to accept offers due to PSR concerns.<\/p>\n

He said: “Our idea is always to keep the best players and the players we build for this club, but we know the position the club is in at the moment. We will see. I really like the players, especially the guys from the academy.”<\/p>\n

Asked specifically about Mainoo, he added: \u2018My players are always my favourites, so I really love my players. I want to keep my players, especially the talented ones.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

‘So like I said, it’s a special moment in this club, it’s a hard moment, we’ll see, but of course, I’m really happy with Kobbie. He is improving and also with the academy.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n
