a horse called ALL THE WORLD.

So, just who is All The World – this surprise Champion Hurdle runner from the Far East?

All The World Last Seen Running Third In Tokyo High-Jump

The Tokyo High-Jump might have been an event at a past Olympics, but it’s also a horse race – yes, Japan also have jumps racing (apparently).

This has now become apparent to UK and Irish horse racing fans as on the latest list of Champion Hurdle runners there was a strange entry from Japan – a horse called ALL THE WORLD.

The horse is trained by Kazuya Nakatake, who had a runner called Alice Verite in the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Del Mar back in November.

Nakatake is now switching his focus to the biggest jumps meeting on the planet as he tries to ruffle the feathers of Nicky Henderson and Willie Mullins, who have won 11 of the last 16 Champion Hurdles between them, at the Cheltenham Festival.

Flat racing in Japan is huge and horses from the Far East have raided the west with success in big races like the Breeders’ Cup, while their Deirdre won the Nnassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood in 2019.

However, jumps racing is also on the up in Japan – mainly due to the success of a horse called Oju Chosan, who won five Nakayama Grand Jumps.

All The World’s Dam Is Epic Love

All The World is owned by Shinji Maeda and sired by another Japanese horse called Kizuna, but his dam is former Pascal Bary-trained Epic Love, who was a Group Three winner in France.

Shinji Maeda’s colours might be known to some as they were responsible for Japanese Triple Crown winner Contrail.

The 8 year-old will be the first Champion Hurdle runner to come from Japan – and probably the first Festival runner full-stop to come from the Far East (it will take too long to check).

He was last seen in action running third behind June Velocity in the Tokyo High-Jump in October – which is one of Japan’s leading jumps races (watch below).

However, the best horse racing betting sites in the UK are making All The World a 100/1 shot in the Champion Hurdle.

In short, it would be one of the biggest shocks in Festival history if All The World beats hurdling class acts like Constitution Hill and State Man.

At this stage it’s not known if connections will opt for a UK or Irish jockey, that knows Cheltenham, or stick with one of his regular Japanese riders.

WATCH: All The World Running Third In Tokyo High-Jump (horse no. 9)

Oh –
