Here’s our Newcastle player ratings as the Magpies brushed aside Wolves 3-0 at St James’ Park on Wednesday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Newcastle Punish Toothless Wolves<\/h2>\n

Alexander Isak scored twice as Newcastle United<\/a> beat Wolves 3-0 at St James’ Park to move up to fourth in the table. The super Swede broke a club-record after netting in his eighth consecutive Premier League<\/a> game.<\/p>\n

Toon Army legend Alan Shearer previously held that honour after netting in seven straight top-flight matches. However, he won’t mind Isak taking all the plaudits.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old star opened the scoring<\/a> after 34 minutes when his effort deflected in off of the unfortunate Rayan Ait-Nouri.<\/p>\n

Isak completed his brace when a fine pass from Bruno Guimaraes found the striker in acres of space in the visitors box, sweeping the ball home from close range past Jose Sa.<\/p>\n

With 74 minutes on the clock, Isak turned provider when he set up Anthony Gordon to wrap up the three points. The England winger has now scored or assisted in his last six league appearances.<\/p>\n

Boss Eddie Howe has now overseen nine wins in a row across all competitions. During that run, Howe’s side have kept six clean sheets and conceded just three times.<\/p>\n

From Wolves’ perspective, they remain in the relegation zone on 16 points. V\u00edtor Pereira saw some positive moments on Tyneside but the Old Gold’s defensive frailties need addressing quickly.<\/p>\n

Newcastle Player Ratings (4-3-3)<\/h2>\n

Martin Dubravka\u00a0\u2013 7<\/h3>\n

Pulled off a stunning save just after Wolves’ consolation effort was ruled out for handball. Stood up to the threat of Cunha very well as the Old Gold pushed for a late goal.<\/p>\n

Tino Livramento – 7<\/h3>\n

The ever-impressive English full-back provided lots of zest and energy down the right-hand side. Always offered an attacking outlet and was sturdy in his defensive duties.<\/p>\n

Dan Burn – 8<\/h3>\n

Dominant in the air as well as on the ground, the local lad was as solid as a rock at the back. Looked calm and composed throughout and only once did Cunha get the better of him.<\/p>\n

Sven Botman – 7<\/h3>\n

Another commanding display from the recently-returned Dutch centre-back. Hard to believe how long his been out considering how professional and experienced his showing was.<\/p>\n

Lewis Hall – 7<\/h3>\n

It’s probably a fair shout to consider the 20-year-old as the best left-back in the league currently. His buccaneering runs and sharp link up play caused Wolves plenty of problems. Kept Cunha fairly quiet, too.<\/p>\n

Sandro Tonali – 7<\/h3>\n

The Italian midfielder had a thoroughly enjoyable night, dictating the tempo of play with considerable guile and ease. He also done the nitty gritty work which was asked of him and hardly stopped running all night.<\/p>\n
