Ipswich vs Brighton Player Ratings<\/h2>\n

The Seagulls were in desperate need of a win after failing to win from their last eight and drawing four consecutive matches in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Ipswich<\/a> struggled to get into the match, with Brighton dominating possession for the majority and creating some good chances for Joao Pedro.<\/p>\n

The deadlock was broken in the 59th minute, as Kaoru Mitoma finished off a superb team move by placing the ball into the bottom right corner.<\/p>\n

Brighton doubled their lead in the 81st minute, as Georginio Rutter turned sharply and placed the ball past Christian Walton from close range.<\/p>\n

Ipswich Town Player Ratings<\/b><\/h2>\n

Christian Walton – 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a mixed performance for the Ipswich shot-stopper, almost gifting the ball to Joao Pedro with a sloppy pass in the early stages but made some important saves.<\/p>\n

Leif Davis – 6
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Englishman is known for his attacking prowess and crossing ability, but Davis failed to offer much of a threat going forward and was out of position for the goal.<\/p>\n

Jacob Greaves – 5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former Hull City player has struggled to adapt in the Premier League and Brighton’s opening goal came after Greaves dived in.<\/p>\n

Luke Woolfenden – 5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Won his fair share of headers and kept the Tractor Boys ticking with accurate passes – but did receive a yellow card for a poor tackle.<\/p>\n

Dara O’Shea – 5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Similar to his defensive partners, Dara O’Shea did not do too much wrong and limited Brighton’s chances.<\/p>\n

Jens Cajuste – 5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Swedish midfielder failed to get any control in midfield to help Ipswich keep possession for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n

Kalvin Phillips – 5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

After being selected over club captain, Sam Morsy, Phillips was expected to put his stamp on things – but the Manchester City<\/a> loanee put in another poor display.<\/p>\n

Nathan Broadhead – 6
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Welshman showed some signs of promise early on, testing Bart Verbruggen’s reflexes after some quick feet but his threat fizzled out.<\/p>\n

Omari Hutchinson – 5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Struggled to impact play in the attacking phase against Pervis Estupinan and had some sloppy moments which allowed Brighton to counter.<\/p>\n

Wes Burns – 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

Offered next-to-nothing going forward but was a benefit to Ipswich’s pressing.<\/p>\n

Liam Delap – 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Put himself about once again and came close to finding the back of the net, being thwarted by a strong Verbruggen save.<\/p>\n

Bart Verbruggen – 7
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Made some superb saves against Liam Delap and Nathan Broadhead, keeping a vital clean sheet to help his side secure the win.<\/p>\n

Pervis Estupi\u00f1\u00e1n – 6.5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kept Omari Hutchinson quiet for the majority of the match and showed great energy to contribute to the attack throughout the 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

Adam Webster – 7
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dealt with the threat of Liam Delap well and was key in keeping possession.<\/p>\n

Jan Paul van Hecke – 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Similarly to Webster, the Dutchman was on his toes throughout the match to deal with Ipswich’s talisman.<\/p>\n

Jo\u00ebl Veltman – 8
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Veltman was deemed to be Man of the Match by the TNT Sports commentary team and it was clear to see why as the Duthcman put in a rock solid performance.<\/p>\n

Carlos Baleba – 7
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 21-year-old put in another superb display for Brighton and his progressive passes were crucial for the Seagulls.<\/p>\n

Kaoru Mitoma – 7.5
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

A relatively quiet display for the Japanese winger, but his opening goal changed the course of the match and it was a lovely finish.<\/p>\n

Yasin Ayari – 6
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayari put in a steady performance at Portman Road, especially defensively, but was not heavily involved in the attack.<\/p>\n

Matt O’Riley – 7
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Providing a crucial assist for Mitoma, O’Riley was an important cog for Brighton.<\/p>\n

Simon Adingra – 6
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ivorian struggled to get into the match and be his usual dynamic threat, having just three touches in the Ipswich box.<\/p>\n
