Brendan Rogers’ Celtic left it late on a nervy night in Glasgow, but an own goal from Young Boys was enough to hand them a vital victory.<\/p>\n

The result means they are guaranteed at least a playoff spot in this year’s Champions League<\/a> knockouts.<\/p>\n

Celtic Player Ratings Vs Young Boys<\/h2>\n

GK: Kasper Schmeichel – 8<\/h3>\n

Produced a superb double-save in the second half that kept Celtic in it. The Dane bailed his side out on a few other occasions and a clean sheet is all you can ask from a keeper.<\/p>\n

RB: Alistair Johnston – 6<\/h3>\n

A solid if unmemorable performance. Job done but wasn’t a huge contributor, though looked strong in defence.<\/p>\n

CB: Cameron Carter-Vickers – 7<\/h3>\n

Won his battle with Silv\u00e8re Ganvoula M’boussy, who tested him immensely.<\/p>\n

Excellent in the air played a big part in keeping Young Boys out.<\/p>\n

CB: Auston Trusty – 6<\/h3>\n

Did what was required of him but not much more. Unlucky to see a header hit the bar but should probably have scored.<\/p>\n

LB: Greg Taylor – 5<\/h3>\n

Decent without the ball but offered little going forwards. Failing to put in a single accurate cross bumps his rating down significantly.<\/p>\n

CM: Reo Hatate – 8<\/h3>\n

One of Celtic’s best performers on the night. Came close to scoring himself a few times as well as setting up others.<\/p>\n

Was rewarded when his superb pass led to the winning goal late on.<\/p>\n

CM: Arne Engels – 7<\/h3>\n

Made more chances than any other player, but his penalty miss was really poor.<\/p>\n

Bags of effort and endeavour but didn’t quite come off for him, solid display though before being taken off with 20 to play.<\/p>\n

CM: Callum McGregor – 9<\/h3>\n

A vital man for Brendan Rogers and Celtic. McGregor was excellent and almost scored an incredible solo goal.<\/p>\n

Passing was a joy to behold and if anybody deserved to win that game it was him.<\/p>\n

RW: Nicolas Kuhn – 6<\/h3>\n

Quiet and unassuming performance from the winger. Didn’t manage to get into the game how he would have hoped but wasn’t terrible.<\/p>\n

LW: Daizen Maeda – 6<\/h3>\n

Caused plenty of problems going forward with his pace and work-rate.<\/p>\n

Let himself down with that late red card which lowers his rating somewhat.<\/p>\n

CF: Kyogo Furuhashi – 7<\/h3>\n

Could have been an 11\/10 if his treble of disallowed goals had stood. Was absolutely sublime in the first half but faded after the break.<\/p>\n

Replaced by Adam Idah in the closing stages.<\/p>\n
