Pras returns with his latest set of FPL tips for Double Gameweek 24, revealing which players you should buy, hold and sell\/avoid ahead of the upcoming round of fixtures.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m Pras, and welcome to my weekly series for SportsCasting<\/em><\/a>, where I will be providing my thoughts on my FPL tips. For context, over the last 12 seasons of FPL, I have achieved four top 10k finishes, including two top 5k finishes. My seasonal average over the last seven seasons is around 21k. I am currently ranked 11k.<\/p>\n

Every week, I\u2019ll be giving you advice on whether to buy\/hold or sell the key defenders, midfielders and attackers in FPL<\/a>. As a fixtures guy, my advice will always have a lens of immediate fixtures but also long-term viability and implications.<\/p>\n

FPL Gameweek 24 Tips: Who To Buy, Hold and Sell\/Avoid<\/h2>\n

Defenders<\/h3>\n

Buy<\/strong> \u2013 Having had a full rest in the Champions League<\/a> during midweek, Trent Alexander-Arnold has the greatest upside across both fixtures this gameweek. Yes, the Bournemouth (a) game isn\u2019t the easiest, but with an assist in each of the last two games, he maintains the ability to get points at both ends of the pitch. For those that already have Trent, adding a Konate or Van Dijk is also fine \u2013 just not instead.<\/p>\n

Hold<\/strong> \u2013 After four blanks in a row, Gabriel finally delivered seven points (clean sheet + one bonus point) against Wolves. I continue to think that Arsenal<\/a> defenders are worth investing in, especially because after Manchester City in GW24, they play Leicester (a), West Ham (H) and Nottingham Forest (a) in the next three.<\/p>\n

Sell\/Avoid<\/strong> \u2013 Manchester City<\/a> have kept four clean sheets since GW1, three of which came against Southampton, Ispwich and Leicester. That just isn\u2019t good enough, even for a very attacking defender like Josko Gvardiol. If you held him this long and enjoyed his goal last gameweek, I think it may be time to let go, as City\u2019s fixtures until GW29 are quite tough and they will also have a very tough Champions League playoff against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid to contend with, which will change their near term focus.<\/p>\n

Midfielders<\/h3>\n

Buy<\/strong> \u2013 Bryan Mbeumo has now scored 14 goals this season following last weekend\u2019s retaken penalty. Whilst Tottenham<\/a> had Micky van de Ven return in the Europa League, they are still struggling with injuries and Mbeumo could get joy against a backline that has conceded three goals to Everton recently. After Spurs, Mbeumo also has a great run of fixtures that include West Ham (a), Leicester (a), Everton (H) and Aston Villa (H).<\/p>\n

Hold<\/strong> \u2013 Morgan Rogers summarised how he has been as an FPL pick this week. One pointer in a lovely home game against West Ham, followed by a hat-trick in the Champions League. At the moment, there is a huge temptation to switch to a Bournemouth midfielder, eg., Kluivert, given his recent hauls and Bournemouth\u2019s form in general. However, we now know that Villa have qualified for the last-16 as a top eight side in the UCL, and therefore get a midweek break between GW24 and 25 \u2013 where they play Ipswich and Wolves. I\u2019d hold Rogers for those two games if I could.<\/p>\n

Sell \/Avoid<\/strong> \u2013 Gabriel Martinelli has been a bit underwhelming since the Bukayo Saka<\/a> injury. It was conceivable that in Saka\u2019s absence he\u2019d take on the attacking mantle and deliver consistent returns. But two attacking returns in five games isn\u2019t enough to justify an investment at a time when midfielders like Kluivert, Rogers, Amad and Semenyo are delivering with so much less investment.<\/p>\n

Forwards<\/h3>\n

Buy<\/strong> \u2013 Cody Gakpo is averaging 7.2 points per match over his last six starts and has stepped up massively under Arne Slot, as evidenced by his run of 11 consecutive league starts. There is a slight concern that most of his returns have come at Anfield, but I think he is a good pickup regardless, as he plays Wolves at home right after the double.<\/p>\n

Hold<\/strong> \u2013 Chris Wood may be the most-sold player since the latest deadline, but I\u2019d still back him to score against Brighton<\/a> \u2013 whom he scored against earlier this season. Wood failed to deliver in Gameweek 23, but prior to that he had returned in the four previous matches.<\/p>\n

Sell\/Avoid<\/strong> \u2013 Joao Pedro has frustrated a lot of his owners recently with what was his third blank in a row. Full disclosure, I am keeping hold of him in my team primarily as a first bench option going forward, but I do understand others selling the Brazilian. Maybe he comes good for me for the Southampton game in GW26.<\/p>\n
