Scotland Player Ratings<\/h3>\n

15 \u2013 Blair Kinghorn: 6<\/h4>\n

He did his best and had a few flashes of brilliance, but he was unable to significantly influence the proceedings.<\/p>\n

14 \u2013 Darcy Graham: N\/A<\/h4>\n

Went off early after a nasty head-on-head collision with teammate Finn Russell. Hopefully not as serious as feared, but didn’t play long enough to give a fair rating.<\/p>\n

13 \u2013 Huw Jones: 6<\/h4>\n

The most threatening runner in Scotland’s<\/a> backline but still failed to make the inroads he would have hoped to.<\/p>\n

12 \u2013 Tom Jordan 6<\/h4>\n

Had to move to fly-half when Russell went off injured; didn’t look comfortable there. A shame we didn’t see much of him in midfield.<\/p>\n

11 \u2013 Duhan van der Merwe: 5<\/h4>\n

A great finish for his try, but an utterly stupid yellow card, which cost his team. Needs to do more in the big games.<\/p>\n

10 \u2013 Finn Russell: N\/A<\/h4>\n

Also involved in the head collision with Graham and went off early. Was a huge loss for Scotland.<\/p>\n

9 \u2013 Ben White: 5<\/h4>\n

Irish back row were all over him and he couldn’t get his side going. Struggled throughout the match and was on the back foot most of the time.<\/p>\n

8 \u2013 Jack Dempsey: 7<\/h4>\n

One of his side’s better performers but couldn’t do it all on his own. Strong carries and put himself about well.<\/p>\n

7 \u2013 Rory Darge: 6<\/h4>\n

A poor performance after his fine display last weekend. Was unable to impact the game much and lost the breakdown battle.<\/p>\n

6 \u2013 Matt Fagerson: 5<\/h4>\n

Mostly anonymous aside from giving a penalty away for a shove in the back while chasing a kick.<\/p>\n

5 \u2013 Grant Gilchrist: 6<\/h4>\n

Disrupted the Irish lineout and worked hard all game. A solid performance but outshone by his opposition.<\/p>\n

4 \u2013 Jonny Gray: 6<\/h4>\n

As above, good at the set-piece but beaten handily around the park by the Irish forwards.<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 Zander Fagerson: 6<\/h4>\n

Can’t fault his effort but was under huge pressure at scrum time and will need to sure up that part of his game quickly with England around the corner.<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 Dave Cherry: 5<\/h4>\n

Good lineouts but offered little around the pitch. Needs to have more impact in the loose, especially when comparing with other hookers in the competition.<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 Rory Sutherland: 6<\/h4>\n

Another strong offering around the park with some ferocious carries. But, he too needs to do better at set-piece if Scotland are to kick on.<\/p>\n

Replacements: 5<\/h4>\n

Did little to change the momentum of the match and were largely ineffectual. Stafford McDowall assisted Van der Merwe’s try but otherwise the Scottish subs had minimal impact.<\/p>\n

Ireland:<\/h3>\n

15 \u2013 Hugo Keenan: 7<\/h4>\n

Another Lions-quality performance from one of Ireland’s<\/a> most consistent performers. Dominant in the air and involved in attack.<\/p>\n

14 \u2013 Calvin Nash: 7<\/h4>\n

A try and a good all-round display. Stood in for Mack Hansen and there was no dip in quality.<\/p>\n

13 \u2013 Robbie Henshaw: 7<\/h4>\n

Took his chance well coming in for Gary Ringrose. Ran and tackled hard as you’d expect and was a big player all game.<\/p>\n

12 \u2013 Bundee Aki: 6<\/h4>\n

Not his most memorable performance, but only because of the high standard’s he’s set. Did his job but little more than that.<\/p>\n

11 \u2013 James Lowe: 8<\/h4>\n

Another top-drawer performance to back up last week’s stellar showing. Scored another try and is surely one of the nailed on Lions test starters if he stays fit.<\/p>\n

10 \u2013 Sam Prendergast: 9<\/h4>\n

Showed maturity well beyond his years and seems to be growing into the starting role every week. Was brilliant throughout.<\/p>\n

9 \u2013 Jamison Gibson-Park: 8<\/h4>\n

Controlled the game and took heaps off pressure off the youngster Prendergast. Another who seems certain to feature for the Lions in the summer.<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 Andrew Porter: 8<\/h4>\n

Ripped apart the Scottish scrum and turned Fagerson inside out. Tireless performance and one of Ireland’s best forwards.<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 R\u00f3nan Kelleher: 6<\/h4>\n

A less convincing display in the lineout and needs to work on consistency. Still put in a big shift in the loose and was as powerful as ever.<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 Finlay Bealham: 7<\/h4>\n

Stepped up again and was solid all around the field. Doing everything he can to keep the shirt when Tadhg Furlong returns from injury.<\/p>\n

4 \u2013 James Ryan: 6<\/h4>\n

Lineout wasn’t great and he was outshone by Beirne. Not a poor performance but we know he has a lot more in the tank.<\/p>\n

5 \u2013 Tadhg Beirne: 8<\/h4>\n

Massive performance from a massive man. Was everywhere in attack and defence and well deserving of his rating.<\/p>\n

6 \u2013 Peter O’Mahony: 7<\/h4>\n

Hell of a shift from the old feller. Proved his worth with a vintage display and won several key turnovers.<\/p>\n

7 \u2013 Josh van der Flier: 8<\/h4>\n

Massive tackle count and all over the Scottish at ruck time. A great shift from him and popped up everywhere.<\/p>\n

8 \u2013 Caelan Doris: 8<\/h4>\n

Huge in attack and defence and a constant thorn in Scotland’s side. Disruptive and physical at the breakdown.<\/p>\n

Replacements: 7<\/h4>\n
