Tiger Woods has confirmed his return date to competitive golf as the golfing icon looks to end seven month absence from the sport.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tiger Woods Confirms Return Date After Seven Month Absence<\/h2>\n

The American sport star will return at the TGL matches after taking a lengthy period of time away from the sport due to the passing of his mother, Kultida.<\/p>\n

On February 4th, Woods’ mother unfortunately passed just a week after she watched her son play in a competition that he founded in the early stages of 2025.<\/p>\n

The 15-time major winner will return on February 18th at SoFi Center with the Jupiter Links, as they face the New York Golf Club.<\/p>\n

There will be a series of matches to determine the winner, with three taking place on Presidents Day and a solo event during TGL’s traditional Tuesday outing.<\/p>\n

Alongside this, Woods will be in action with Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim against Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick all in attendance.<\/p>\n

Tiger Woods was meant to feature at the Genesis Invitational<\/a>, as he is also a founder of the event but decided to withdraw due to the loss of his mother.<\/p>\n

Woods commented on his reasoning about missing the Genesis Invitational and revealed that he was not ready to compete yet.<\/p>\n

Woods said: “I planned to tee it up this week, but I\u2019m just not ready. I did my best to prepare, knowing it\u2019s what my mom would have wanted, but I\u2019m still processing her loss.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I hope to be at Torrey later in the week and appreciate the continued kindness since my Mom\u2019s passing.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The golfing icon last appeared at a PGA Tour start seven months ago, as he played in The Open Championship at Royal Troon in July 2024 and Woods failed to finish in a qualification place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
