Goodwood and Beverley will welcome the ITV Racing cameras this Sunday (25th Aug), with six races in total to be shown across the two tracks on the main terrestrial channel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ITV Racing Will Show Four Goodwood Premier Raceday Contests On Sunday\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It’s a busy Bank Holiday weekend in the UK and on Sunday the horse racing<\/a> action will come from Yarmouth, Beverley <\/strong>and Goodwood<\/strong> – with the last-named hosting a seven-race Premier Raceday.<\/p>\n

The action at the West Sussex track will start at 1:50pm, with the first four races at Goodwood<\/strong> also ALL being shown LIVE on ITV Racing – while the remaining three will be broadcast on Racing TV.<\/p>\n

    Goodwood Horse Racing Preview: Sunday 25th August
    \n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    1:50 Goodwood<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The opening ITV Racing contest is a 3 year-old Fillies Stakes over 1m2f, in what looks a race that will rest between six of the nine runners. Charlotte’s Web and Eavestone have shown a good level of form in their opening races but are yet to score.<\/p>\n

    Therefore, a chance is taken on the unraced pair of Christian Bruce<\/strong> (William Haggas, 22%) and Estrange<\/strong> (David O’Meara, 29%) with both yards having decent strike-rates at the track with their\u00a0 year-olds.<\/p>\n

    2:25 Goodwood<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    A competitive 1m Class handicap next with many chances – but the William Haggas runner Godwinson<\/strong> and the David Menuisier entry Toimy Son<\/strong> looks worth chancing.<\/p>\n

    Godwinson returned this season with a second at Newbury in the Spring Cup but has failed to build on that since. However, did run well still to be 4th (of 17) last time at York and being dropped a pound by the handicapper and eased a tad in grade give him a much better opportunity.<\/p>\n

    Toimy Son is the likely favourite and it’s easy to see why. He’s one of just two CD winners in the field and was a top winner of the Golden Mile at the Glorious meeting here earlier this month. Up 7lbs here and has 10-2 to carry but has Oisin Murphy (rode last time) on his back again and the Menuisier yard also boasts a solid 29% return with their\u00a0 4+ year-olds at the track.<\/p>\n

    Of the rest, the O’Meara runner Orbaan<\/strong> is starting to look well-handicapped and if getting a bit more luck in-running can’t be ruled out at a track he’s run well at in the past.<\/p>\n

    3:00 Goodwood<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The hat-trick-seeking Sergeant Wilko will be popular again with Oisin Murphy riding, but will need to defy another 4lb hike. The consistent Amazonian Dream is another that is sure to be in the mix, but the Jack Channon runner Tiriac<\/strong> and Mick Appleby entry Baldomero <\/strong>are the ones of interest.<\/p>\n

    Tiriac was last seen running 5th to Jordan Electrics at Hamilton last month, but the form of that run looks solid with the winner running a close second at York in midweek, while the Channon yard have a 29% SR with their 4+ year-olds at the track and have their horses in fine form too.<\/p>\n

    Baldomero has lost his way a tad in recent runs but is a proven CD winner here at Goodwood and is starting to look well-handicapped again after being dropped 2lbs from his last run (8th or 16 at Windsor). Connections are also jocking-up Freddie Larson, who has won on the horse before, to claim a handy 3lbs<\/p>\n

    3:35 Goodwood<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Many chances to end the live ITV action at Goodwood on Sunday – including four CD winners in Witness Stand, Blue Prince, Qirat and Rhoscolyn –<\/strong> with the last-named chanced at a big price.<\/p>\n

    This 6 year-old was a nice winner at Epsom at the end of May and after three average runs since is back to a mark just 2lbs higher than that success. He was well back in the Golden Mile here last time (watch below), but the drop back to 7f here will help and also didn’t get the clearest of runs that day.<\/p>\n

    The O’Meara yard have also won this race twice in the last four runnings, which is a further plus – including last year with the already-mentioned Rhoscolyn.<\/p>\n

    They also send Darkness<\/strong> to post, who will have Tom Marquand doing the steering, and he gets in here running off a pound lower mark than an excellent fourth in the Golden Mile.<\/p>\n
