Manchester City’s clash with Liverpool could be down to Erling Haaland vs Mohamed Salah, and ahead of the match, the Egyptian winger has made an ‘easy’ dig against the Norwegian striker.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Salah leads the Golden Boot race going into Sunday’s crucial clash, with 24 goals compared to Haaland’s 19.<\/p>\n

It means that Haaland is at risk of losing the Golden Boot trophy – which he won in his first two seasons at the club.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian is a doubt for the match after missing out on Manchester City’s<\/a> trip to Real Madrid<\/a> mid-week. He was absent from the 3-1 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu after hurting his knee in the closing stages of their match with Newcastle last weekend.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah<\/a> has made a light-hearted dig at Erling Haaland<\/a> ahead of Manchester City vs Liverpool<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Sky Germany as per Goal, <\/a>he said that his impressive numbers carry more weight than Haaland’s given that he plays on the flank.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Haaland, Salah said: “I respect him a lot. We may have only spoken once after the last game. But he’s a striker, so his life is easier. I wish him all the best, of course.<\/p>\n

“But his life is easy because he plays as a striker. As a winger, getting that kind of quota is pretty difficult. Any winger can tell you that. That’s why I see it differently between us, because he’s a striker and I’m a winger.”<\/p>\n

Salah is on course for his best season at Liverpool – in what could be his final campaign at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Going into this weekend’s clash vs Haaland and Man City, Salah has 49 goal contributions (29 goals and 20 assists) in 37 appearances across all competitions. He is well on course to becoming the first player since Thierry Henry to record both 20+ goals and 20+ assists in a Premier League season.<\/p>\n
