Liverpool Go 11 Points Clear At The Top<\/h2>\n

It was a strange first-half as Manchester City<\/a> edged the possession and chances against a nervy-looking Liverpool side.<\/p>\n

Yet it was Liverpool’s<\/a> clinical quality up front which was the difference – with Mohamed Salah<\/a> continuing his excellent form.<\/p>\n

Arne Slot’s<\/a> side poked their nose in front from a clever corner routine from the training ground after 14 minutes.<\/p>\n

Alexis Mac Allister’s low corner was flicked on by Dominik Szoboszlai and into the back of the net via Salah’s deflected strike.<\/p>\n

It came against the run of play with Omar Marmoush having a couple of chances and also having a goal disallowed for offside.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Doku was also enjoying himself a field-day running at Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>. So much so that the England defender was dribbled past eight times in the first-half alone.<\/p>\n

However, the England international played a big part in Liverpool going 2-0 up after 37 minutes.<\/p>\n

His excellent scooped pass over the top found Salah, who drew in two Manchester City defenders before laying the ball off to Szoboszlai to slot home.<\/p>\n

The second-half carried off much in the same manner. However, the absence of Erling Haaland<\/a> was telling and Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate dealt well with balls into the box.<\/p>\n

City had a let-off when Curtis Jones thought he had settled the game, but Szoboszlai was offside in the build-up.<\/p>\n

Liverpool could have had a third through Luis Diaz while Marmoush forced Alisson into another save. Ultimately, Salah’s goal and assist combo helped Liverpool go 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.<\/a><\/p>\n

Salah now has 51 goal contributions this season in all competitions and he climbed up to third in Liverpool’s all-time scoring list.<\/p>\n
