Man City Beat Wasteful Spurs 1-0 Thanks To Erling Haaland First-Half Strike<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Manchester City were pre-match favourites with the best football betting sites<\/a> to beat Tottenham Hotspurs in north London on Wednesday night, and they did just that thanks to an Erling Haaland<\/a>‘s first half strike.<\/p>\n

Pep Guardiola<\/a>‘s side may not be at their fluid best this season, but they still take some beating which was apparent at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n

It didn’t take long for the champions to take the lead, as Jeremy Doku picked Haaland out with a low cross from the left, with the Norwegian striker making no mistake from close range on his return to the starting XI.<\/p>\n

The remainder of the first half wasn’t exactly full of chances, with City doing enough to ensure they went in at the break a goal to the good.<\/p>\n

Wilson Odobert came closest to levelling the scores within the first 10 minutes of the second half, but he couldn’t quite direct Pedro Porro’s cross on target, instead shooting into the ground with the ball bouncing over the crossbar.<\/p>\n

Ange Postecoglou<\/a> looked to his bench with four substitutions midway through the second half, but couldn’t quite find the formula to break down Pep Guardiola’s side who stood firm, desperate to keep a clean sheet on their travels to north London.<\/p>\n

Man City goalkeeper Ederson pulled off a great save with less than 10 minutes to go, denying Heung Min Son with a fantastic save, protecting his clean sheet under the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium lights.<\/p>\n

Just as it looked like City had wrapped up a 1-0 win, Erling Haaland<\/a> scored his second of the night in the 95th minute. However, VAR ruled it out due to handball, meaning it remained 1-0 to the visitors who head back to Manchester with all three points.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s 1-0 victory for Manchester City<\/a> means they leapfrog Chelsea into fourth place in the Premier League. Spurs meanwhile remain down in 13th place, still nine points off the top half.<\/p>\n
