Away fans are set to return to Old Firm matches for the first time since 2023 in March’s fixture between Celtic and Rangers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Celtic<\/a> will host Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on 16 March, with Glasgow’s derby day finally letting away supporters attend once again.<\/p>\n

The two sides will meet again at Ibrox before the end of the season, meaning both sets of fans will be able to attend their rival’s ground on Old Firm day.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Rangers<\/a> said:\u00a0“Rangers supporters will be able to attend our match with Celtic on 16 March, with the two clubs agreeing for a reciprocal percentage of tickets to be allocated to away fans.<\/p>\n

“Approximately four per cent of saleable capacity at both stadiums will be given to the visiting club, with everyone at Rangers looking forward to having the backing of our supporters in the East End of Glasgow in just over a fortnight’s time.<\/p>\n

“The arrangement will then be repeated for the Old Firm derby at Ibrox following the split.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Celtic said: “We can confirm that following the previous SPFL determination from last year and with necessary requirements being addressed, away supporters will be present at the next two Glasgow derby matches this season at Celtic Park (16 March) and Ibrox.”<\/p>\n

Why Were Away Fans Banned From Old Firm Games?<\/h2>\n

There have been no away fans at Old Firm games at either Ibrox or Celtic Park since 2023.<\/p>\n

There had been growing problems in the lead up to the ban, with away ticket allocations getting smaller and smaller thanks to safety concerns.<\/p>\n

Eventually, both clubs stopped allowing away fans to attend matches.<\/p>\n

But they have now agreed a deal which will see both sets of away fans offered a reciprocal allocation of tickets, so away fans can once again add to the much-lauded Old Firm atmosphere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
