Challow Hurdle - Full Race and Reaction\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fnT80OP-03U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, those wanting to wade into The New Lion might want to think twice as winners of the Challow have not fared well at the Cheltenham Festival later that season.<\/p>\n<p>Heading into 2025 &#8211; <strong>Challow Hurdle winners are 0-21<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year&#8217;s Challow hero (2023-24) Captain Teague actually took in the Albert Bartlett, but didn&#8217;t fare any better with a 10th (of 13) finish.<\/p>\n<p>While before that, the 2022-23 Challow Hurdle winner Hermes Allen was a well beaten 6th in the Turners Novices&#8217; Hurdle having been sent off as the 9\/4 fancied favourite.<\/p>\n<p>Then the 2021-22 victor Stage Star was pulled up at Cheltenham and Bravemansgame in 2020-21 managed just third in the Turners behind Bob Olinger.<\/p>\n<p>Even the mighty Denman won the Challow Hurdle in 2005-06 and was beaten as the 11\/10 favourite with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/betting-sites\/horse-racing\/\">the best horse racing betting sites in the UK<\/a> at Cheltenham that season.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>This Season&#8217;s Challow Hurdle Form Has Already Taken A Few Knocks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When winning the 2024-25 Challow Hurdle, The New Lion breezed by Wendigo in second and Bill Joyce in third &#8211; with the Paul Nicholls-trained favourite Regent&#8217;s Stroll back in fourth.<\/p>\n<p>However, since that December race, the third Bill Joyce, has hardly advertised the form &#8211; being a well-beaten third (12 lengths) on Trials Day at Cheltenham at the end of January.
