The latest Wales injury update is bad news for Josh Adams, with the winger ruled out of Saturday’s trip to Edinburgh to face Scotland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 29-year-old Cardiff man also missed Wales’ 27-18 defeat to Ireland<\/a> last time out, and has not managed to get fit for this weekend.<\/p>\n

In better news, Gloucester’s Gareth Anscombe has been passed fit after the fly-half suffered a head injury against the Irish.<\/p>\n

Wales scrum coach Adam Jones said:\u00a0“Gareth is fine and good to go.<\/p>\n

“It’s good to have the voice. He came in as if he hadn’t been away. It’s been good to have him leading it.”<\/p>\n

Wales are currently on their worst ever run of results, losing the previous 15 test matches.<\/p>\n

Cardiff boss Matt Sherratt<\/a> has taken over as interim head coach after Warren Gatland departed following the side’s 22-15 defeat to Italy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Positive Wales Injury Update As Dewi Lake Nears Return<\/h2>\n

As well as Anscombe’s fitness, there is more good news for Wales.<\/p>\n

Hooker Dewi Lake is closing in on a return after the Ospreys hooker missed the opening three rounds.<\/p>\n

The Ospreys man, 25, has been out with an arm injury and hasn’t played in the Six Nations since 2022 due to a string of injury problems.<\/p>\n

But he led the side in their summer tour of Australia, and impressed during the autumn internationals in November.<\/p>\n

Adam Jones added:\u00a0“Dewi has been excellent and it is good to have him back.<\/p>\n

“He’s a former captain and has been a big player for Wales in the last few years.<\/p>\n

And the former Wales prop also believed Lake could play himself into British and Irish Lion contention with a few more impressive performances.<\/p>\n

“He’s been mentioned in certain [Lions] squads. He’s got a point to prove, that’s the beauty of this year,” said Jones.<\/p>\n

“Anyone who plays well in the Six Nations has a chance to tour in the summer.<\/p>\n
