Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly contemplating deploying a top-heavy team against Liverpool in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Parisians, who have scored a whopping 21 goals in their last four games across competitions, want to take a sizable advantage to the return leg at Anfield next Tuesday, 11th March.<\/p>\n

Liverpool, who are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, are the favourites to progress to the quarter-finals. They won seven of their eight games (1 L) in the league phase, topping the table ahead of La Liga giants Barcelona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

PSG, meanwhile, finished in 15th place in the rankings and had to battle Ligue 1 side Brest for a place in the Round of 16. Luis Enrique’s side, however, made light work of the playoffs, beating Brest 10-0 on aggregate.<\/p>\n

PSG Weighing Up Fielding a Star-Studded Attack Against Liverpool<\/h2>\n

PSG will have to bring their A-game to overpower Liverpool in the Round of 16, and according to RMC Sport, the Parisians are considering doing something bold to finish the job.<\/p>\n

As per the French outlet, PSG are weighing up the possibility of fielding an offensive lineup against Liverpool. Enrique could field Desire Doue in midfield and go with a front three of Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. This would boost PSG’s chances of unlocking Liverpool’s disciplined backline.<\/p>\n

If the former Barcelona coach ultimately decides against this big experiment, Kvaratskhelia could drop to the bench, with Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, and Joao Neves then forming the midfield.<\/p>\n

Ousmane Dembele Could Torment Liverpool<\/h2>\n

PSG is one of the strongest teams in Europe, filled with top players who have a proven track record of delivering decisive performances. It is difficult to stand out in such a team, but Ousmane Dembele<\/a> has done it quite effortlessly this season.<\/p>\n

The former Barcelona man has played 33 games this season in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing six assists. He has found the back of the net 18 times in 22 Ligue 1 games, emerging as the division’s leading scorer.<\/p>\n

Dembele is great in one-on-one situations, can play on either wing, and has been very consistent in front of goal this season. It will be interesting to see how Virgil van Dijk and Co. go about dealing with him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
