Here at SportsCasting<\/em>, we’ve ranked every 2024\/25 EFL Championship club by their most expensive purchase and there’s a number of star names included.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Championship club record signings have seen an array of international stars join their new employers and go on to be a huge success. Others have proven to be a complete monetary failure.<\/p>\n

As it stands, Leeds United take top spot when they splashed out \u00a335.5m for Georginio Rutter in 2023. The Frenchman joined when the Whites when they were still a Premier League<\/a> club.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, the Yorkshire giants also claimed top spot when it comes to ranking Championship wage bills<\/a> for the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n

Daniel Farke’s side also came third when ranking this year’s teams by Championship stadium capacity<\/a>. Only Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday boast bigger grounds.<\/p>\n

Completing the podium positions are Watford<\/a> and Sheffield United. The Hornets laid out a reported \u00a328.8m for Ismaila Sarr in 2019 with the Blades splashing out \u00a323.5m for Rhian Brewster in 2020.<\/p>\n

In fact, the vast majority of the 2024\/25 Championship clubs record signings were made when they were a top-flight side. Therefore, those who have never reached the promised land rank towards the bottom of the table.<\/p>\n
