Tottenham reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a 3-2 aggregate victory over AZ Alkmaar and you can watch the highlights below.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tottenham Advance In The Europa League<\/h2>\n

Ange Postecoglou’s<\/a> side had it all to do in the second-leg of their Europa League<\/a> Round of 16 clash after a 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar last week.<\/p>\n

The Europa League reflects Tottenham’s last chance of winning a trophy this season and realistically the only way of qualifying for European football next year.<\/p>\n

Lucas Bergvall’s own goal cost Tottenham<\/a> last week but this time it was a mistake from an AZ Alkmaar defender that gifted Spurs their opener.<\/p>\n

Heung-min Son dispossessed Wouter Goes before finding Dominic Solanke<\/a>, who picked out Wilson Odobert to tap home the opener.<\/p>\n

James Maddison doubled Tottenham’s lead on the night and put them ahead in the tie just three minutes after the break.<\/p>\n

The England international exchanged passes with Son inside the Alkmaar box before expertly firing home.<\/p>\n

Alkmaar didn’t offer much threat on the night but they were gifted a way back into the tie just after the hour mark.<\/p>\n

Bergvall was again at fault, this time alongside Odobert, as a mix-up between the pair outside their own box allowed Peer Koopmeiners to drill home for Alkmaar putting them level in the tie.<\/p>\n

However, Tottenham again found their groove with Son and Odobert again having parts to play.<\/p>\n

Son and Djed Spence combined smartly on the left flank before the latter drilled a cross into the path of Dominic Solanke.<\/p>\n

The England striker just like for Tottenham’s opener flicked the ball on for Odobert to again put Tottenham ahead in the tie.<\/p>\n

Tottenham held on to take the victory and keep their trophy hopes alive. Winning the Europa League would be huge for Postecoglou who has struggled in his second year at Tottenham with the club languishing in the bottom-half of the Premier League table.<\/p>\n
