Novak Djokovic reached a staggering milestone at the US Open on Wednesday, becoming the first player in history to reach 90 match wins at all four Grand Slam tournaments.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Djokovic Advances To Third Round After Milestone Win<\/h2>\n

The Serbian tennis<\/a> great defeated Laslo Djere in the second round of the 2024 tournament, advancing to the third round with a record-breaking victory.<\/p>\n

Djokovic’s win was a hard-fought battle against his fellow countryman. Despite Djere’s early lead, Djokovic fought back to claim the second set before Djere retired due to injury.<\/p>\n

In a post-match interview with Nick Kyrgios<\/a>, Djokovic expressed his disappointment in the abrupt end to the match but acknowledged Djere’s recent struggles with injuries.<\/p>\n

“It’s not what we want or what the crowd wants, to see a walkover,” Djokovic said. “He (Djere) had an injury that took him off the tour for some time and he is struggling to come back physically to his level.”<\/p>\n
