All You Need To Know Ahead Of The 2024\/25 Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The 2024\/25 edition of the UEFA Champions League will mark a new era for the competition thanks to a brand new format, but how exactly will it work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All 36 teams competing in the 2024\/25 UEFA Champions League league phase have now been finalised, and as we edge closer and closer to the competition getting underway, we&#8217;re taking a look at how the new format will work.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the previous format, which employed a &#8216;group stage&#8217;, saw 32 teams drawn into eight groups of four, with the top two advancing to the knockout stage, third place dropping into the Europa League, and fourth place exiting Europe altogether.<\/p>\n<p>This has now been completely scrapped and replaced by a &#8216;league phase&#8217;, and all teams will now be in one 36-team league, where they will face eight different clubs, playing four games at home and four games away.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of the draw, teams will be assigned a position in one of the four pots based on their UEFA club coefficient ranking, and they will be drawn to play against two teams from each pot, one at home and one away, using UEFA&#8217;s new automated software.<\/p>\n<p>Teams will not be able to face other sides from their own national associations, and they will only be able to face a maximum of two teams from any one other national association.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2139\ufe0f New format.
