Football really is finished <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/fixed?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#fixed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Arron Ashley (@Arron_AFCCrewe) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Arron_AFCCrewe\/status\/1828913926370738293?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 28, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2><b>Why Is The Carabao Cup Draw Now Seeded?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This season\u2019s changes to the draw come as a result of the Champions League and Europa League expanding, creating an extra two matches at least for all teams involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Carabao Cup Third Round fixtures will take place in the weeks commencing 16 and 23 September, the same time as European fixtures will be played.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the potential for fixture clashes, the decision has been made to avoid the possibility of a Champions League club meeting a Europa League club with no available date to play the match.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But with most top sides fielding reserve players until the latter stages, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/joe-willock-injury-carabao-cup\/\">Carabao Cup<\/a> is already under pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now accused of favouritism, the competition is coming under even further scrutiny amid calls for it to be scrapped.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The Carabao Cup needs to be scrapped.
