Daniel Cormier has spoken out about the career path of Conor McGregor and has described the Irishman\u2019s recent actions as \u2018kind of sad\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Daniel Cormier Left \u2018Sad\u2018 By Conor McGregor Career Path<\/h2>\n

The former UFC heavyweight champion is not best pleased with the route McGregor is going down and how it impacts his legacy in MMA.<\/p>\n

Since his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, McGregor has stepped away from the Octagon and has been involved in multiple controversies.<\/p>\n

The Notorious One was set to return at UFC 303, however, his scheduled about against Michael Chandler was postponed due to a foot injury the Irishman suffered in training.<\/p>\n

Chandler and McGregor were on course for some huge PPV numbers after their battle as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter.<\/p>\n

Recently, McGregor\u2019s priorities appear to be elsewhere and has taken a step towards politics, attending The White House as a form of representative for his nation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former \u2018Champ Champ\u2019 has also shown more commitment to BKFC, investing into the company and even showing a willingness to compete in bare knuckle combat.<\/p>\n

However, Daniel Cormier has highlighted how these decisions are impacting his UFC legacy and the analyst would like to see McGregor return to the Octagon soon – describing the current situation as sad.<\/p>\n

Cormier said: \u201cFor me, it\u2019s kind of sad because of this: It\u2019s like, when a guy comes, and he\u2019s that successful, and he\u2019s that good, you hope that the last time you see him in the octagon is him fighting \u2013 even if it\u2019s him losing.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Cormier also dived into how McGregor\u2019s last fight in the UFC cannot be his broken leg against Poirier where the Irishman went on to shout about his opponents wife after the fight.<\/p>\n

Cormier said: \u201cYou don\u2019t want the last memory is him sitting in the octagon with a broken leg, yelling at Dustin Poirier\u2019s wife. It was the craziest vision I\u2019ve ever seen.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like when he got here, everything was fresh, new, and it felt genuine. Then he went to nice Conor when him and Dustin fought in Abu Dhabi.<\/i><\/div>\n

\u201cNice Conor was more preposterous than him doing what he did after the fight with Dustin the third time. Because he was holding Dustin\u2019s liquor, they were hugging each other.
\n<\/i><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was the most odd thing I\u2019d ever seen because that was not what we had come to expect from Conor McGregor.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cHe gets beat by Dustin Poirier, then he goes all the way back to the other guy, but even more to the right and was more loud, he was more obnoxious, he was nasty, talking about Dustin\u2019s wife and all these things.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was more nasty, so even that felt forced. Then when he broke his leg, he was sitting on the ground yelling and screaming.
\n<\/i><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was almost like he was a rich guy who didn\u2019t get his way, and there is nothing he could do about it, and he was acting out because of it. That\u2019s like a sad visual for me after all that he became to the sport of mixed martial arts.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
