World number one Luke Humphries has shared some crucial advice with fellow darts star Stephen Bunting. ‘The Bullet’ is yet to win a single game in this year’s Premier League Darts campaign, with Humphries sharing an interesting theory on why Bunting’s form may have faltered.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Luke Humphries Shares Interesting Theory On Stephen Bunting’s Poor Form<\/h2>\n

Luke Humphries<\/a> is factually the best darts player in the world going off the official PDC Order of Merit<\/a>. Yes Luke Littler<\/a> is the form man and perhaps the number one in waiting, but for now that title belongs to ‘Coolhand’.<\/p>\n

Humphries has enjoyed an incredible couple of years on the dartboard. He won the 2024 World Darts Championship<\/a> as well as countless other tournaments and majors in 2024. This year he remains one of the players to beat.<\/p>\n

After seven nights of the 2025 Premier League Darts campaign, Humphries sits in second place behind Luke Littler who is top of the pile. Down at the bottom is Stephen Bunting<\/a>, who is yet to register a single win meaning he sits bottom of the standings on no points.<\/p>\n

This is Bunting’s first appearance in the Premier League since featuring as a one-off challenger in Liverpool in 2020. He also previously competed in 2015, finishing in eighth place out of 10. He is current ranked number six in the world, but is certainly struggling in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Luke Humphries<\/a> has shared a theory on why this could be the case. ‘Coolhand’ believes that Bunting’s walk-on song could be one of the reasons why he has struggled, particularly in the early stages of games in the opening few legs.<\/p>\n

Stephen Bunting’s walk-on song is Sia and David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’, and is certainly one that gets the crown pumped. This walk-on song has helped ‘The Bullet’ become a crowd favourite amongst darts fans, but Humphries believes it could be affecting him negatively on the oche as he is too pumped up.<\/p>\n

Humphries: ‘The Walk On Song Is Affecting Him’<\/h3>\n

In a recent interview with talkSPORT<\/em>, Luke Humphries<\/a> revealed that he believes Stephen Bunting’s walk-on song could be a major reason as to why he has struggled so much during the 2025 Premier League Darts campaign:<\/p>\n

“We’re really close friends, so when things aren’t going right he’s going to come for me for a bit of advice.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I said to him I don’t know if the walk on song is affecting him a little bit at the start. Nathan Aspinall<\/a> had this and told me the buzz is so high that for the first couple of legs it’s hard to come down from.<\/em><\/p>\n

“When you’ve got that massive buzz, you’ve got the first two legs where you are waiting to come down a little bit.<\/em><\/p>\n

“He’s not had a great record winning the first couple of legs and I said to him when you do your walk on, do it but give yourself 15 or 20 seconds at the table before you throw your practice darts and allow yourself to come down from that adrenaline.”<\/em><\/p>\n
