Brooks Koepka Criticises LIV Golf Over Slow Progress<\/h2>\n

Whether it’s positive or negative, everyone has an opinion about LIV Golf.<\/p>\n

Golf media members and journalists are forever talking about LIV Golf, it’s relationship with the PGA Tour and the proposed merger of the two.<\/p>\n

The same can be said for players on both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf who are always asked questions on the current state of affairs in the world of professional golf. Whether it be Rory McIlroy<\/a>, Scottie Scheffler<\/a> or anyone else on the PGA Tour, they are constantly asked about the LIV Golf mergers.<\/p>\n

Similarly, players at LIV such as Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm<\/a>, Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> and Phil Mickelson are asked the same questions from their point of view having ditched the PGA Tour for the breakaway Saudi-backed golf tour.<\/p>\n

It seems that we are close to a unification in world golf between LIV and the PGA Tour<\/a>. The recent appointment of Scott McNeil<\/a> as the LIV Golf CEO has certainly helped move this closer and has been seen as a positive move, but there are still some doubts over LIV Golf and where it should be.<\/p>\n

One of those people who believes LIV Golf should be further ahead than where it currently is is five-time major champion Brooks Koepka.<\/p>\n

The American was one of the first marque players to ditch the PGA Tour in favour of a move to LIV. Despite being a LIV player for a few years now, Koepka has revealed in a recent interview that he is disappointed with the progress of LIV Golf overall.<\/p>\n

The five-time major champion has criticised LIV bosses for leaving the league ‘behind where we should be’. Since joining LIV in 2022, Koepka has admitted that he simply hasn’t seen the progress that he expected.<\/p>\n

Koepka: LIV Golf Is ‘Behind Where We Should Be’<\/h3>\n

Brooks Koepka<\/a> has been critical of LIV Golf bosses of late and believes that they must do better. Despite a new TV deal with FOX in America and ITV in the UK, the 34-year-old says bosses must be better when it comes to making LIV more appealing to golf<\/a> fans.<\/p>\n

Koepka told Joe Pompliano’s podcast<\/em><\/a> that he is disappointed with the slow progress of LIV and feels there is plenty to improve on going forward:<\/p>\n

“Look we’re four years in, it’s just getting its feet wet and figuring out what direction they want it to go. Obviously, there’s been a lot of change and hires of people within LIV.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I think Scott [McNeil] is a great guy and he can lead LIV to where it needs to be and where I think it should be because we are behind, to be quite fair. Behind where we should be. From bringing sponsors in to hitting the international market and the US market.<\/em><\/p>\n

“The new TV deal definitely helps, but we need to take that and expand it and grow it. We’ve still got room to grow but we\u2019ve got the right people in charge now and I\u2019m excited to see where it goes,”<\/em> concluded Koepka.<\/p>\n

The state if play in world golf<\/a> is in a precarious place right now. That being said, the future looks bright if LIV Golf<\/a> and the PGA Tour can strike a deal. Brooks Koepka’s candid criticism of LIV isn’t anything new, with a lot of fans and fellow players undoubtedly feeling the same way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
