Big Man Bakar has activated his Wildcard for FPL Gameweek 30 \u2013 here’s why you should too.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we head into Gameweek 30, many FPL managers are considering activating their Wildcard.<\/p>\n

I have already activated mine, and in this article, I’ll explain why it could be a worthwhile move, along with key considerations for those making decisions this week.<\/p>\n

FPL Gameweek 30 Wildcard<\/h2>\n

Why Use a Wildcard in Gameweek 30?<\/h3>\n

1. Dealing with Haaland\u2019s Injury<\/h4>\n

For those who brought in Erling Haaland ahead of Gameweek 29, his injury has been terribly timed. A Wildcard provides the perfect opportunity to replace him.<\/p>\n

Omar Marmoush is a solid alternative, and the extra funds from downgrading Haaland can help strengthen other areas of the squad.<\/p>\n

2. Bringing Back Salah and Isak<\/h4>\n

Many managers had to sell Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak to afford Haaland. This Wildcard window presents the perfect opportunity to reinstate both.<\/p>\n

Salah emerges as the best captaincy option in Haaland’s absence, while Isak has a promising home fixture against Brentford and is a potential Triple Captaincy candidate in Gameweek 32.<\/p>\n

3. Clearing Out Deadweight<\/h4>\n

If your squad includes Dango Ouattara, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Chris Wood, Matheus Cunha, or Iliman Ndiaye, then this is the ideal time for a squad overhaul. A Wildcard ensures a refreshed lineup with high-performing assets.<\/p>\n

4. Preparing for Upcoming Double Gameweeks<\/h4>\n

Recent FA Cup results have provided clarity on upcoming blanks and doubles.<\/p>\n

A Gameweek 30 Wildcard allows managers to load up on players from teams like Manchester City and Crystal Palace, who have favourable fixtures and upcoming double Gameweeks.<\/p>\n

5. Maximising Immediate Gains<\/h4>\n

Gameweek 30 offers a strong set of fixtures for several top teams. A Wildcard now essentially functions like a Free Hit, setting managers up for instant returns.<\/p>\n

6. Making a Late Push in the Season<\/h4>\n

With the season drawing to a close, now is an opportune moment to gain an edge over rivals. Delaying the Wildcard too much could make it harder to catch up.<\/p>\n

7. Updated Injury and Fixture Information<\/h4>\n

Delaying the Wildcard was previously justifiable due to uncertainty around Haaland and Bukayo Saka. However, recent updates indicate that waiting may no longer be beneficial.<\/p>\n

Also, most experts predict a Gameweek 33 double for Manchester City, Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Crystal Palace, reducing the information gap between Gameweek 30 and 31.<\/p>\n

Who Should Form the Core of a Gameweek 30 Wildcard?<\/h3>\n

Crystal Palace are the most important team to target for FPL managers for the run-in.<\/p>\n

They are likely to have two back-to-back doubles in Gameweek 32 and 33, and possibly even another in Gameweek 36 should they reach the final of the FA Cup.<\/p>\n

What helps their assets is their price and the appeal of their upcoming fixtures.<\/p>\n

I think having at least two Palace attackers is essential on Wildcard \u2013 I may even go three!<\/p>\n

I\u2019d also go three from Newcastle.<\/p>\n

Gabriel, Isak and Marmoush pick themselves for obvious reasons as well.<\/p>\n

Saka Strategy<\/h3>\n

If there’s no early team news confirming Saka\u2019s start, picking him on a Wildcard seems risky. However, having a strategy to bring him in later is important.<\/p>\n

This is why I like Cole Palmer \u2013 Chelsea\u2019s next three fixtures are strong, and he offers a seamless transition to Salah in Gameweek 33 if needed.<\/p>\n

Haaland to Isak or Marmoush?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019d opt for Marmoush. With Haaland expected to be out for five to seven weeks, Marmoush provides a better long-term solution. Isak, while a great pick, may become surplus to requirements after Gameweek 32.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Marmoush has a higher ceiling for this Gameweek.<\/p>\n

Gameweek 30 Best Captain<\/h3>\n

Salah is the best captaincy choice. One of the main reasons to bring him in on a Wildcard is to captain him this week. Bookmakers’ odds favour him as the most likely player to score or assist.<\/p>\n

Who is the Best Third Manchester City Player on a Wildcard?<\/h3>\n

This is a tough one. Gvardiol and Marmoush seem like logical picks, but predicting minutes for a third City asset remains challenging.<\/p>\n

Should Semenyo Be Considered on a Wildcard?<\/h3>\n

No. Despite an appealing fixture, Semenyo is on nine yellow cards and just one away from a two-game suspension. He must avoid bookings in each of his next three matches to escape suspension\u2014too risky.<\/p>\n

Best Replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/h3>\n

I\u2019d go for Gvardiol. He is locked in for regular minutes and benefits from an excellent fixture run, including two potential back-to-back doubles and a match against Leicester, who have struggled to score.<\/p>\n

Best Replacement for Justin Kluivert<\/h3>\n

Eberechi Eze or Pape Matar Sarr.<\/p>\n

When Should the Free Hit Chip Be Used<\/h3>\n

For those with a Free Hit left, Gameweek 34 seems the best time to use it. Most Wildcard teams will be stacked with double Gameweek 33 players, many of whom will blank in Gameweek 34.<\/p>\n

Should Hits Be Taken to Field a Full XI?<\/h3>\n
