      Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott Have Only Won The Irish Grand National Three Times Between Them<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      The two big Irish training powerhouses of Willie Mullins <\/strong>and Gordon Elliott<\/strong> are actually not as prolific in the Irish Grand National as some might think.<\/p>\n

      This is backed up with the duo having only THREE runs in the Fairyhouse race between them – with Mullins edging it (just) with two wins to one for Elliott.<\/p>\n

      The Mullins wins came in 2019 with Burrows Saint – ridden by Ruby Walsh – and more recently with I Am Maximus (2023), who went onto add the Aintree Grand National the following season.<\/p>\n

      Elliott’s sole Irish Grand National win came in 2018 with 20\/1 shot General Principle. Meaning the pair have just three wins collectively in the race.<\/p>\n

      Both are sure to be well represented again, with Mullins saying his best chance, as he looks to add Irish National to his Aintree and Scottish wins, will be with High Class Hero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      You can see their latest declaration below – but these will be whittled down when the final runners are announced. Mullins is expected to have only Sa Majeste and High Class Hero going but Elliott is sure to have more than two.<\/p>\n

      Including Favori De Champdou, who fell in the race 12 months ago.<\/p>\n

      Tom Dreaper holds the record for the most Irish Grand National wins with ten successes between 1942 and 1966.<\/p>\n

          Only THREE Winning Irish Grand National Favourites In The Last 21 Runnings<\/strong><\/h2>\n

          The Irish Grand National also hasn’t been the best race for winning favourites<\/strong> in recent times.<\/p>\n

          We’ve only seen three market leaders cross the line in front and none since 2019 when Burrows Saint won as the 6\/1 jolly.<\/p>\n

          Since 2003, the other winning favourites were Our Duke in 2017 (9\/2) and Shutthefrontfdoor in 2014 (8\/1).<\/p>\n

          There have also been 13 unplaced favourites in the last 21 runnings – including another in 2024 which was Nick Rockett, who made amends by winning the 2025 Aintree Grand National earlier this month.<\/p>\n

          Rebecca Curtis Looking To Join A Select Batch Of British Trainers To Win The Fairyhouse Race<\/strong><\/h2>\n

          Since 2005, the race has been dominated by Irish-trained horse racing<\/a> winners – no real shock here.<\/p>\n

          With only three non-Irish yards getting their hands on the prize.<\/p>\n

          These were Jonjo O’Neill twice – he won the race in 2014 with Shutthefrontdoor and in 2007 with Butler’s Cabin, who were both owned by JP McManus.<\/p>\n

          O’Neill has a leading fancy again with Johnnywho, who was a close second in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival last time. Plus also Hasthing, who was brought down in last week’s Scottish National. Both are also again owned by Mr McManus.<\/p>\n

          While the other British-trained winner since 2005 was the Bob Buckler-trained Niche Market in 2009 – ridden by Harry Skelton.<\/p>\n

          Rebecca Curtis will be looking to add her name to this list as she is expected to saddle her NH Chase winner Haiti Couleurs<\/strong> (watch below).<\/p>\n

          However, with 14 of the last 21 winners having raced at Fairyhouse in the past this would be a trend he’ll have to overcome.<\/p>\n
