The 2025 Zurich Classic tee times have been officially confirmed for Round 1, with some interesting groups on the opening day of this PGA Tour pairs event at TPC Louisiana including defending champions Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zurich Classic Tee Times: McIlroy & Lowry Paired With Horschel & Hoge For Round 1 Fourballs<\/h2>\n

After winning The Masters a fortnight ago and completing the career Grand Slam, Rory McIlroy is back in action after a week off as he teams up with fellow Irishman Shane Lowry for the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.<\/p>\n

This event isn’t one of the more stacked events, with the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Aberg and Xander Schauffele not featuring this week at TPC Louisiana. In fact, very few of the world’s Official World Golf Rankings<\/a> Top 25 are in action this week at the Zurich Classic.<\/p>\n

In total there are 80 teams teeing it up for Round 1 on Thursday at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, aiming to win one of this rare pairs tournament on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

The 33 pairs who make Friday’s cut will be in with a chance of winning a large portion of the $9.2m Zurich Classic prize money on offer this week. The winning pair will pocket a total of $2,658,800, meaning they can win $1,329,400 each come Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Irish contingent of Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry are the defending champions of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. They have been grouped with Billy Horschel & Tom Hoge for Round 1 on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The defending champions get their tournament underway at 1.52pm (GMT) on Thursday, teeing off from the 10th hole. Round 1 and Round 3 of the Zurich Classic are in the fourball format, with Round 2 and Round 4 both foursomes (alternate shots).<\/p>\n

Interesting Feature Groups At 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans Including Fitzpatrick Brothers & Hojgaard Twins<\/h3>\n

There are some interesting feature groups on Thursday for Round 1 at the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, teeing off on both the first and 10th hole in fourballs.<\/p>\n

The best golf betting sites have listed two-time major champion Collin Morikawa as one of the pre-tournament favourites to win this event alongside his partner Kurt Kitayama. They begin Round 1 from the first tee at 6.44pm (GMT) on Thursday alongside Wyndham Clark & Taylor Moore.<\/p>\n

Sahith Theegala & Aaron Rai are another of the pre-tournament favourites for the Zurich Classic. Their opening 18 holes begin at 2.05pm (GMT) on Thursday from the 10th tee.<\/p>\n

Also in the field are two sets of brothers. Former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick is playing in a team alongside his brother Alex, with Nicolai and Rsmus Hojgaard another set of brother’s teaming up for the Zurich Classic this week.<\/p>\n

The Fitzpatrick’s tee of at 6.57pm (GMT) on Thursday from the first tee alongside Robert MacIntyre & Thomas Detry.<\/p>\n

The Hojgaard twins kickstart their week from the 10th tee on Thursday with a 1.39pm (GMT) start. The pair of Danish twins have been paired with Karl Vilips & Michael Thorbjornsen.<\/p>\n
