The Premier League<\/strong> season is reaching its climax, and with five games to go, Newcastle United<\/strong> are still in the hunt for Champions League<\/strong> football.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe’s Magpies ended their 70-year trophy drought by beating Liverpool to lift the EFL Cup<\/strong>, and now have their sights set on qualifying for Europe’s top club competition for the second time in three seasons.<\/p>\n

Newcastle are currently fifth in the Premier League table, but could climb to third with a victory this weekend.<\/p>\n

They take on an Ipswich Town<\/strong> side that are not yet mathematically relegated, but sit 15 points from safety with 15 available, and a goal difference 20 worse than 17th-placed West Ham.<\/p>\n

The Tractor Boys are heading back to the Championship<\/strong> next season, along with fellow promoted sides Leicester City and Southampton, but will hope to finish their campaign on a high.<\/p>\n

      This leaves Newcastle short in central defence, with Sevn Botman and Jamaal Lascelles also struggling with knee complaints.<\/p>\n

      Emil Kraft may therefore be called upon to fill in at the back, but the rest of Eddie Howe’s<\/strong> squad is relatively healthy.<\/p>\n
