This Saturday Lingfield racecourse in Surrey plays host to its biggest day on its horse racing calendar – when it stages the Lingfield Derby and Oaks Trials. However, just how good a guide have these races been in producing winners of the Epsom Derby and Oaks in recent years?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We take a look at when the last time a horse won both races and the total double winners – and showcase the final Lingfield Derby and Oaks Trial runners for 2025.<\/p>\n

The Last Lingfield Oaks Trial Winner To Win At Epsom Was Anapurna In 2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It’s a shame this Saturday’s Lingfield Oaks Trial<\/strong> will only see three runners – yes THREE.<\/p>\n

And with one of them Giselle, for in-form trainer Aidan O’Brien, likely to be a hot favourite with the best UK horse racing<\/a> sportsbooks – then this 1m 3 1\/2 race isn’t going to be much of a betting proposition.<\/p>\n

Giselle is currently around 20\/1 for the Epsom Oaks on June 6th, so will need to win well at Lingfield on Saturday to enhance her price.<\/p>\n

But if she can win – just which horses will she be trying to emulate in the main event at Epsom?<\/p>\n

The last horse to win the Lingfield Oaks Trial and then take the Epsom Oaks was Anapurna<\/strong> in 2019.<\/p>\n

Watch below as the Frankie Dettori-ridden filly was gutsy from the front to see off Pink Dogwood by a neck.<\/p>\n

At the time, she was providing Dettori with his fifth win in the Epsom Oaks – but the pocket Italian has since gone onto win two more with Soul Sister in 2023 and Snowfall in 2021.<\/p>\n

Prior to Anapurna, it was the Henry Cecil-trained Ramruma<\/strong> in 1999 that did the double and before her it was Lady Carla<\/strong> in 1996 and User Friendly<\/strong> in 1992.<\/p>\n

In total, since 1971 – there’s been just SIX horses<\/strong> to win both the Lingfield Oaks Trial and Epsom Oaks (see below).<\/p>\n
