Everton are set to move into their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, but what will happen to Goodison Park once they do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Toffees are set to switch to their brand-new, 53,000-seat arena this summer.<\/p>\n

With more than 130 years of history at their iconic old ground, many fans were fearful that all would be lost as plans were announced for Goodison Park to be demolished.<\/p>\n

While the new stadium was being built, Everton’s<\/strong><\/a> previous owners unveiled plans for an \u00a382 million development project to be built on the site of the old stadium.<\/p>\n

This site would have included shops, housing and a retail park.<\/p>\n

But in December, private equity firm The Friedkin Group purchased the club, and has now scrapped plans to demolish Goodison Park.<\/p>\n

What Will Happen To Goodison Park?<\/h2>\n

Following their acquisition of the club, the new owners assessed the feasibility of maintaining Goodison Park as the home ground for Everton’s women.<\/p>\n

They concluded that the 39,572-capacity ground was suitable, and it will now become the largest dedicated women’s stadium in England.<\/p>\n
