Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min has filed a criminal complaint with South Korean authorities after reports that a woman threatened him with a false pregnancy claim in an alleged blackmail attempt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Gangnam Police Station in the Korean capital Seoul said it has detained two people on suspicion of extortion and attempted extortion.<\/p>\n

South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s have been taken into custody over the allegations.<\/p>\n

The woman allegedly approached Son in 2024, claiming to be carrying his child, reportedly asking for money to keep quiet.<\/p>\n

Further demands for money allegedly followed in March, this time from the man.<\/p>\n

Son Agency Says Blackmail Plot Based On False Claims<\/h2>\n

In a statement, Son’s agency said that the South Korean international is the “clear victim” in this case.<\/p>\n

The statement read: “Son & Football Limited has filed a criminal complaint for blackmail against individuals who threatened the player by claiming they would spread false information.<\/p>\n

“The police are currently investigating the matter, and we will provide updates as soon as the investigation concludes.<\/p>\n

“We will take strong legal action against those who engaged in blackmail and intimidation based on clearly false claims.”<\/p>\n
