The war of words between UFC heavyweight champions Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones shows no sign of slowing, with Aspinall the latest to pour fuel on the fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Interim champion Tom Aspinall caused a stir on social media this week.<\/p>\n

On Monday, he posted on Instagram with the caption “Heavyweight news. Coming soon.”<\/p>\n

This, rather unsurprisingly, led to a flurry of speculation from fans about whether Aspinall was finally ready to announce a fight with undisputed champion Jon Jones.<\/p>\n

But this theory, along with talk of an interim title defence against another opponent, was quickly shot down.<\/p>\n

In a teasing post via Instagram, Aspinall uploaded a picture with the date 28 May, captioned “Heavyweight news. Coming soon.”<\/p>\n

But as quickly as fans began to wonder if a fight with Jones was imminent, the Brit revealed he was joking.<\/p>\n
