After months of negotiations, an agreement has been reached for the group to purchase a 51% stake in the club.<\/p>\n<p>There has also been confirmation of a \u00a320 million investment to be made available over the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Cavanagh will be named chairman after the club&#8217;s annual general meeting next month.<\/p>\n<p>Current Leeds United chair, Paraag Marathe, will become vice-chair of Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>Leeds are currently controlled by 49ers Enterprises. This meant the Scottish Football Association had to ratify the Rangers deal after discussions about dual interest risks ended satisfactorily.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Rangers Football Club is pleased to announce that a consortium of investors, led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises, has purchased a majority stake in the club, with approval from the Scottish FA. <\/p>\n<p>The consortium will chart a new strategic vision for the club\u2019s future\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/x9m40Q2KnT\">pic.twitter.com\/x9m40Q2KnT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Rangers Football Club (@RangersFC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RangersFC\/status\/1928420980117958971?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 30, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>San Francisco 49ers Owners Complete Rangers Takeover<\/h2>\n<p>In a statement released by the club, Rangers said:\u00a0&#8220;The consortium will chart a new strategic vision for the club&#8217;s future prioritising on-pitch performance and long-term financial sustainability.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Incoming chairman Cavenagh added:\u00a0&#8220;We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us by the Rangers board, shareholders, staff, and supporters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This club&#8217;s history and traditions speak for themselves, but history doesn&#8217;t win matches.
