With the 2025 World Cup of Darts now upon us, Peter Wright has vowed to show England’s Luke Humphries and Luke Littler ‘who’s boss’ if the pair meet Scotland in the World Cup of Darts Final.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The tournament gets underway on Thursday 12th June, with the final set for Sunday night. As the third seed, Scotland can’t meet number one seed England until the final.<\/p>\n

Peter Wright Vows To Show England ‘Who’s Boss’ In World Cup Of Darts<\/h2>\n

Peter Wright is one of the Scotland representatives at the 2025 World Cup of Darts. The two-time world champion has won the World Cup of Darts on two previous occasions, as he aims to make that three this weekend in Frankfurt, Germany.<\/p>\n

All of the pre-tournament talk has unsurprisingly been about the English duo of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries. They represent England for the first time together, hoping to put their darting brilliance together and win the World Cup of Darts for the first time as a pair.<\/p>\n

They are of course the overriding favourites and number one seed, but there are plenty of other countries with a strong hand this year. One of them is Scotland’s duo of Peter Wright and Gary Anderson.<\/p>\n

The pair have won the World Cup of Darts once before as a pair back in 2019, with Wright winning it with John Henderson in 2021 as well. Now, the Scottish duo aim to dethrone England and get one up on the Luke duo.<\/p>\n

‘Snakebite’ may not have been in the best form for the past year or two, but he has vowed to show the England duo of Littler and Humphries ‘who’s boss’ if they meet in Sunday’s World Cup of Darts Final.<\/p>\n

Luke Humphries won the 2025 Premier League<\/a> just last month beating ‘The Nuke’ in the final, and Wright has warned the English pair ahead of the tournament with some fighting talk.<\/p>\n

England are the current holders, with ‘Coolhand’ reigning supreme 12 months ago with partner Michael Smith. Now though, given the Order of Merit standings, it is Littler who will partner Humphries for the very first time in a formidable duo.<\/p>\n

Wright: ‘Let Them Speak About Them Two’<\/h3>\n

Scotland’s Peter Wright has made no secret of the fact that he wants to win a third World Cup of Darts for his country and second with Gary Anderson, a player he admits he still looks up to.<\/p>\n

Despite the England dream-team of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, ‘Snakebite’ has sent a warning message to them, insisting that he and Anderson will show the two Luke’s ‘who’s boss’ if the pair meet in the 2025 World Cup of Darts Final:<\/p>\n

“You ask any player representing their country and to play with one of the greatest Scottish darts players in Gary Anderson, it’s special. He puts nerves in me because I look up to him. He’s brilliant.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Let them speak about them two, potentially we don’t meet until the final. Hopefully we meet in the final and we can show who’s boss,”<\/em> Wright told DartsNews<\/em> in a recent pre-tournament interview.<\/p>\n

Wright, who is the nineth most followed darts player in the world<\/a>, has made it abundantly clear with his pre-tournament fight talk that he will be ready for a World Cup of Darts Final showdown with England if both make it that far.<\/p>\n

When Can Scotland Face England In 2025 World Cup of Darts?<\/h2>\n

Given the fact Scotland are ranked third seed for the 2025 World Cup of Darts, this means they cannot face number one seed England until the final on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Both England and Scotland are two of the four seeded nations, with Wales and Northern Ireland the two others.<\/p>\n

The four seeded teams don’t enter the competition until Round 2. The 12 group winners will then join the four seeded countries in Round 2 which is the last-16 of the World Cup of Darts.<\/p>\n

Who Are The World Cup of Darts Seeds?<\/h2>\n

There are in fact 16 seeds for the 2025 World Cup of Darts.<\/p>\n

Of these 16 seeded teams, the top four seeds don’t enter the tournament until the Round 2 stage.<\/p>\n

The remaining 12 seeds must progress from their respective group to make it into the straight knockout stages.<\/p>\n

The English duo of Luke Humphries and Luke Litter are the number one seed, with the rest of the 2025 World Cup of Darts pairings confirmed<\/a> too ahead of this weekend’s tournament.<\/p>\n
