Ex-Arsenal man Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Police have said the offences are reported to have taken place between 2021-2022.<\/p>\n

The charges relate to three women, with two counts of rape relating to one woman, three counts in connection with a second woman, and one count of sexual assault relating to a third woman.<\/p>\n

Ghana international Partey, 32, left Arsenal at the end of June following the end of his contract.<\/p>\n

But former club Arsenal have faced intense criticism after the charges were announced.<\/p>\n

According to the Telegraph<\/em>, Arsenal continued to play Partey in full knowledge of an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

The midfielder played a key role for the Gunners in three successive title challenges.<\/p>\n

He was also involved in Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thomas Partey Charged With Rape And Sexual Assault<\/h2>\n

Jaswant Narwal, of the Crown Prosecution Service, told the Telegraph<\/em>: \u201cThe Crown Prosecution Service has today authorised the prosecution of Thomas Partey for multiple counts of rape \u2013 after carefully reviewing a comprehensive file of evidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur prosecutors have worked closely with officers in the Metropolitan Police who have carried out the investigation, to review the evidence and advise on the appropriate charges.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe remind everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendant has the right to a fair trial.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know there will be significant public interest in this announcement, but it is absolutely vital that there is no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”<\/p>\n
